Now if that reminded you of that infamous FMP season, raise your hand.

That would definitely send the Higurashi saga down the drain.
aslong as there's evil Hanyuu and evil Rena, I'm happy. xD

If they did that + Saikoroshi-hen it'd be less harmful than trying to adapt the PS2 arcs or create more "serious" arcs, now that all the mysteries are solved.

Well, if they just showed a scene of Bernkastel talking about DIFFERENT WORLDS AND POSSIBILITIES, they could put in the Miotsukushi-hen without interfering with the established Good End.

On that note, I think a retelling of Onikakushi-hen through the eyes of Rena and Mion would be something I'd look forward to.

Isn't that what Tsumihoroboshi-hen is about though? Yeah, I get what you are referring to but IMO the base message would be redundant with the aforementioned arc.

There's still the Dice Killing Chapter (Saikoroshi-hen) which is the epilouge of the Festival Accompanying Chapter (Matsuribayashi-hen) and the Canal Drying Chapter (Miotsukushi-hen) which is the "true end" of Higurashi that have yet to be animated along with other PS2 and manga chapters

I think this whole thing leaves hope for one of the most often unanswered questions in an anime:

What happens next?

The third season better have an animated version of Hirukowashi-hen. Seeing Rena getting a taste of her insanity. The "wanna take 'em home" type, that is.

I think what Hareoic meant was, not Mion/Rena going crazy like Keiichi did, but Keiichi's first "going crazy" from there eyes.

Personally I think that leaving that arc as it is would be more entertaining, I mean we KNOW what really went down so there's no need to animate all of it.

Hey maybe the third season will be a crazy shonen-type series based off of Daybreak--!? ... Or not.

Hence the second part of my statement "Yeah, i get what you are talking about". We already saw a similar thing from Keiichi eyes in Tsumihoroboshi hen.

Yea, but that was only a brief glimpse. I think Hareoic wants to see the whole thing.

The two TIPS from the end of Matsuribayashi-hen explain Hanyuu's past. Also, Katautsuchi-hen touches on it as well.
Spoiler for i think its a spoiler:

*raises hand* Seen it, have it, watched it . They should do that as an extra episode in the dvd releases.

As I said, it's from one of the TIPS which means that it's available in this thread.
