This chapter was way better than the anime version. Although, not much was altered. The character thoughts are what make it really shine.

The find a nickname for Felli session was funny, but poor Felli, Layfon think she's a "cold, bloodless doll".

thanks for the chapter. Its awesome much more detailed and it feels like that his much more cooler in the novel though the fonfon in anime is also cool. But he really stuck up from the past. Its a good thing senpai drag him out of his grendan senses.

Though a question. His been exiled permanently right? But why did leerin said that 6 years are long wait. What does that 6 years meant to be?

good chapter although the prologue confused me a bit as to what was going on but chapter 1 was really good. The fight between the platoon was so well described and also there was that 6 year thing again what exactly does it mean?

lol, the prologue confused me too. The "I" will become clearer in one of the chapters later.

Spoiler for Vol 3 Ch 1:

What I like about this chapter is the "voice" speculating on how the world became polluted (after the Layfon vs Gorneo fight). It gives the novels a nice break by looking at it from a perspective outside that of anyone living in a Regio and reminds the readers that something bigger and more sinister is happening.... to be explained in later volumes. Just like that bit of backward forshadowing? is all.

As for the characters, the description of Nina's hair casting light upon her group in the bar is again stressing how beautiful she is. hey, no wonder Layfon finds himself attracted to her (plus all her other inner qualities). I laughed when Formed said how Layfon's wasting his youth in another way!

Chapter 2 and 3 are out.
And it really shows why I don't like the anime's way of showing the characters.

Spoiler for Vol 3 Ch 2n3:

The second chapter had little to mention except that Layfon had already accepts himself as military artist.But the 3rd chapter was different. Both Felli's and Nina's character is a deal stronger than in the anime. Because Nina has already knows about Layfon's bad deeds in Grendan so there's no way of her turning a back on him. Actually the complete opposite happens: she supports him. Same with Felli. She fends off Shante's accusations of Layfon and fights back quite harshly(I mean with her words). And lastly Gorneo's reason of hating Layfon is less selfish and even more rational. But I guess the next chapter's going to be even more enjoyable. Goat-chan confronts Layfon. I know it's going to be much more complicated than the one happened inthe anime.

We learned a few things in this chapters.

- Layfon was only exile for a 1 year, but he went to school on another Regios for 6 years. He could technically leave after the first school year to return home.

- Layfon's scared of Goat-chan!


So far, this volume is really different than its anime counterpart(s).

lol! I don't exactly remember how the scene went with Layfon and the goat in the anime, but with the novels, I really like the bit where Layfon's Kei kept spilling out as a sign of his resisting the overwhelming power, and how his Kei caused the stones around him to explode. (I bet that exploding part isn't in the novel)

In the anime, Layfon simply slashed Goat-chan with his sword at "full power".
