Trojan detected on aasasubs homepage?

As the title shows, beware of Aasasubs. Yes, they release 4:3 anime in 720p with bad translations, but that's not my point. Do not go to their website.

Uhm...I don't really know what you just said. My anti-virus said it found a trojan...and I though I'd tell other anime fans about it. I don't really know much about viruses and things like that. Are you saying it's not a trojan?

That's an... interesting bookmark collection you have there.

Anywho, look at the bottom left corner of that firefox window. It was trying to load something from martuz.cn when avast interrupted it. That's probably where the supposed trojan comes from. The aasasubs homepage is hotlinking to something from that website, either through actual theivery or an advertisement on the page, (very more likely the latter,) so it proceeded to load the file.

Raster encodes... I lol'd

However I do suspect it was caused by an add trying to redirect your browser somewhere, not that it matters since noone should want to go to that site anyway.

Aye, most nastiness anymore comes from an ad served up by an adserver that the website has no direct control over (other than complaining like hell when this happens).

It can even happen on "large commercial sites" though it more often shows up on small sites who get a few pennies by giving "ad service X" space on their site.

My wife knits and you wouldn't believe the number of such hits she gets from little innocuous knitting web sites who have sold adspace to these ad dispensers from hell (who apparently have no QC on the ads they'll take).

All you can really do is write the owners of the website and let them know the ad service they're partnered with is screwing them with infested ads. I'd suspect that before I'd suspect them of screwing their own website.

Aye, 'tis why I only use google adsense. They're typically fairly good about their ads.

It's probably just a weird chunk of php code.

My site was blocked by my school when I used this one Wordpress theme for "malware" but there was no malware on the site.

I switched themes about a month later and the site was no longer blocked.
