Akiko is definitely very cute. Haven't really seen a character like her in awhile, I mean one that doesn't annoying you when they get all happy and giddy when they're exited. I like the bouncing up and down with the repeat of number needed. Actually they're all kind of cute. The Tom-boyish Tama-chan is funny.

I was expecting "A League of Their Own" the animation, but I was way off.
Series is definitely cute, and it's hard to say no to an all-girls-school gig. I'll keep an eye on this.

The show hasn't sold me yet, but I will keep coming back just for the Taishō era setting which isn't a popular era in anime.

I just guess it's something about the Taisho era in which western influence is a lot narrower than it is today that makes her antics stand out that much more.

Anyway, I always thought Taisho era is a rather sad time in Japanese history. It was basically before it tried to enslave the rest of Asia and almost seen as a time of innocence before all the sin to come. That's how I keep observing the Japanese idea of that era.

Another cute refreshing episode, maybe until the end that is. Lots of progress but the outcome was rather expected, after all they are knew and those weren't much of pitches. I have a feeling that that was what our hot blond teacher was planning. Next episode is expected as well but can't wait to see it and how things will work out.

About the currency, i'm pretty sure that from 1970s till today , USD have dropped roughly 6 times in value. So 1925 to now about 50 times is a good approximate (considering Great Depression, WW2 and others)

Agree here. I like how most of the time she looks so serious (and cool i will say), but when in joy became too adorable.....

I actually like Koume too, especially whenever she change into squat (but it's just too big for avatars.....)

I really like this anime - it's my 2nd favorite after Aoi Hana in this season. All girls are so cute in a non-stereotypical way, it's hard to pick the best one (although I guess I like Tamaki and Yuki best so far, and Anna-sensei is wonderfully hilarious).

Tama-chan's easily my favorite...Love how everyone just got hit by Akiko's pitching, but she not only dodges it but rushes out at her.

Interesting to see some male characters showing up now though...Not exactly bad guys per-se just...Products of the era they live in I guess?

Ookami is nice too, but that has some focus on stuff I don't really care about while this is just great from beginning to end. I was unsure how the match was going to end. I knew they weren't going to win, but surely the date thing wouldn't happen, so by the point a few of the boys were out, I thought they were going to tie, but they ended up completely defeating the girls after all. Makes sense... the best development. And they just took back the 3rd requirement. The female characters are great in this, but the male characters aren't too bad either... The idiot proposing to Koume was very amusing to watch, and Akiko's guy was in the opposite way, interesting. Speaking of Koume, that move she did to catch her food was amazing... And getting hit by a real baseball must have hurt... Hii... I can't stand that fear... Spoiler for Up to Ep 2: The director did a good job in portraying 1920s student life (assume it's correct). All of those butterfly chasing, then clapping after class, lightly hug, act of casual communicate ....etc.... they're real eyecandy to watch ..... Everyone must loves Akiko the way she was hopping in joy ^^ Then when you see how they play baseball, it's just too adorable...... if the background is 21st century, then even those who don't know how to play won't be able to act in such cute manners. Finally ep 2 showed off some yuri-subtext with Tomoe the centre of them all.
