Finished Shinjuku and it really was great from start to finish. Really fun character interactions, and the big twists at the end were very nice.
Gameplay wise, the regular nodes were easier than in previous singularities but a couple boss fights were very hard. Especially the Avenger... until I discovered a NP5 summer BB in my friends list and utterly wrecked him with her. Made me realize I really should try to get a servant from the two classes I'm missing (Avenger and Moon Cancer).

As a side note, don't you think they made a mistake by making Salter a 4* Saber instead of a 5* Avenger? Or they could have made her Lancer Alter version an Avenger.

Salter doesn't quite fit the Avenger trope. She is pretty much just a version of herself closer to how her sister would act. Minus not being as depraved(To our knowledge).

For Avenger there is always Jalter, who puts out Berserker like damage.
As for a Moon Cancer: If you need one, just shout I'm pretty sure a lot of us can put them on their friend support.
But yes, Lobo is quite annoying without one, personally I somehow managed to beat him with Jeanne(Ruler), don't ask me how though.

We still have not gotten Avenger class Artoria. Strong chances it's going to be Alter, or they surprise us with X Alter (the nerd of the bunch). Avenger, [REDACTED], Moon Cancer and Alter Ego are the only classes left (and antagonist only Beast class too). And Kawasumi expressed her wish to voice Artoria for ALL classes.

Yes, there is two more classes that are original to FGO, not counting Shielder. You have seen Foreigner already with the rate ups of Yang Guifei and Van Gogh.

Sure, but Columbus was a slaver because he was a trader at a time when slaves were valuable cargo (which is terrifying in its own right). It was hardly a core motivation for him. Actual Colombus would have either been running around with an explorer boner or trying pillage the temple and castle after Chaldea was done.

News to me, Atlantis and Olympus are still two of the highest rated chapters by fans to this day. Avalon overtook them but iirc last time a poll went out they both beat Camelot and Babylonia.

As for Olympus: because the story was overall better. And that's the point "overall". You don't poll on singular story elements. If they had left the entire mech thing out, the story would have still gotten that high rating, while making much more sense.

Going by what has been shown the Olympians were a Type 3 or 4 Civilization plus too which makes it even more ludicrous.

I didn't say he was nicer, i said he didnt actually care that much about slaves as anything but a commodity. Considering that means he saw spices and such (the stuff he used the promise of getting as a way to fund his trip) as more valuable, its not exactly a shining recommendation of his moral character.

And the story literally hinges on "the Greek Gods are giant robots". Its the basis for how Zeus beat back Sefar, it explains their behavior being so weird, allows for the nanomachines Chaldea uses against them, finally explains like five years worth of foreshadowing, is a necessary component of Zeus' final plan, and also gives them something that makes them unique among the pantheons.

Also i don't know why that scale would surprise you. The Tree's of Emptiness have literal, actual galaxies inside of them as power sources. Which we found out about in LB 3, where it got hijacked and empowered by a single terminal of the World, and then Chaldea and Qin straight up beat it to death. LB Zeus is significantly above Qin.

Not to mention this isn’t the first time Nasu's gone cosmic with that time period. The canonical reason the Umbral Star (the thing that spawned Sefar, who LB Zeus barely managed to defeat) never returned to Earth is because the Earth hid the Milky Way from them. There's also the various other shenanigans people have gotten up to like Kama making a pocket dimension the size of the actual universe, all the Moon Cell based nonsense, and Goetia's Reality Marble being the size of "a single cell in the body of the universe" which would be at least the size of a galaxy if not more.

The only reason we don't constantly get the absurd cosmic shit is because of how the Nasuverse works. Anything born of or created by a world is supposed to be bound to that world almost literally. This applies even to beings whose power is based on the concept of another planet or even the universe, and the Planet has its own kind of magic/power/reality fuckery that enforces that (its what makes Reality Marbles such a pain to use). But the Moon Cell and Lostbelts arent bound by that, at least not to the same extent, and this we get the absolutely unfiltered shenanigans of someone creating a universe-sized pocket dimension as a way to hide, for example.

You can literally replace 90% of the mech use with "magic""magical contraptions", "blood" and "blessings", without evengrazing the quality of the story told. The remaining factors are Artemis and Golden Huge Bear.

In fact, the story would make much more sense after that, as we no longer lkack an explanation how a medieval knight sword made it's way from Zeus all the way to Great Britain.

It also adds more legitimacy to how Medea hid Jasons wounds, as there are theories out there were she hid the wounds not only visually, but hid them from reality itself.
And fun fact, that makes even more sense than just hiding them, since Merlin's illusions literally fool reality.

And frankly, it's no wonder it does. Stay Night makes it rather clear that Nasu had that idea way in, rather than all the way back when he introduced Medea and Heracles for the first time.

Heck, even other Losbelts show that, especially the Britain one.
I also think some mythologies intertwine to a point where making only some aliens would be really hard, while this is exactly what the story does.

If you want to trade it out for a completely boring interpretation that fails to explain their survival against Sefar, removes the principle conflict of 5.1, removes the conflict between Zeus and Wodime, and invalidates Zeus' eventual plan. Which is to say, no, you can't do that at all without fundamentally altering the story. For that matter, the stuff you mentioned exists and we've already seen it, and it can't do the shit we see the Machine Gods and their nanomachines do.

"A medieval knight sword"? Are you talking about Excalibur? Because Zeus and the Greek Lostbelt (or Greek in PHH for that matter) have absolutely zero connection to Excalibur. Arturia is the one that killed Sefar in PHH because the planet keeps her on call specifically to yeet her at stuff like that. In the Lostbelt Zeus beat back Sefar by combining with the other Machine Gods and just straight up winning the fight. IIRC Nasu stated later Sefar survived but later got dunked by Excalibur anyway somewhere else.

That has nothing to do with Jason's wounds? She hid them with a Mystic Code, it didn't involve the Machine Gods at all.

If you mean "He didn't think of this till he started expanding the Fate universe" then sure. And? He also hadn't thought of Lostbelts, or Beasts, or Grand Servants, or about half of Arturia's expanded role in the lore, or Jason, or Sefar, or [continue ad infinitum]. He expanded the universe, and its more interesting for it.

How exactly does the Avalon Lostbelt "show" that? Avalon takes place in a timeline where Excalibur wasn't made as the key deviation, which means Greece died because Zeus didn't do the combining mecha thing. As for the "intertwining", if you mean the Romans then the Roman gods are literally just the Greek ones straight-up in the Nasuverse. Also in PHH they lost their Machine bodies and got the more human ones that we see Artemis in normally.

For that matter, the Greek Gods aren't the only alien deities. The Mayan Pantheon is based off an alien super-virus that rode down on a meteor. Amaterasu is somehow born from the Sun instead of the planet (which is why she's so fuck off powerful). Tiamat is literally a living space ark that creates and repaints ecosystems, and her goddess persona is based on a forgotten being who created the idea of Earth Goddesses. Also the entirety of the Foreigner class and the Outer Gods.

It's almost like you're using an arbitrary sci-fi scale that doesn't really work with Nasu's world-building in which the Planet is actually a sentient giga-wizard. For that matter, nearly all of the power of the Lostbelt is concentrated in Zeus, and he's explicitly both limiting and withholding his power for most of the story.

Also Angels already exist in the Nasuverse.

Astolfo and D'Eon were pretty much both there because they're traps, but they really don't bounce well off each other. A very far cry from Salter and Jalter in Shinjuku. Nevermind Shota Fergus who was insufferable.

The story was horrible, and I didn't like any of the new servants except maybe Chinese Loli. Colombus and Scheherazade's identities were super easy to guess and their portrayal was... not good. I can get portraying Colombus as a bad guy, but here he was literally evil incarnate. Went way too far. A little nuance would have been nice. Scheherazade's personality and designs were both awful.

Well, at least that's behind me now.

Since Christmas is coming, I won't start the next Singularity yet.

And I'm grateful you guys are using spoiler tags but maybe label them? I got spoiled pretty hard about Olympus. I guess a certain scene with Megalos makes more sense now...

And yes, Agartha is a waste of a lot of potential. The characters get used better in some of the later events, but they can't really fix the core problems without a complete retcon.
