Spain was hugely dominant in the overtime. It's still wonderful to see with which ease they manage to do pass-combinations to free players when there's a bit of free space for that.

So let's see. Penalties

Ronaldo to miss his penalty, you've heard it here first.

Anyway I think Spain was the better team especially at the end, and they do deserve to win the penalties.

Ronaldo doesn't look like he wants to take his penalty.

Lol. Ronaldo never even got a chance. XD

Shame... I actually wanted Portugal to win but it looks they screwed it up (Especially that defender).

Well, that settles it. Should we actually win this, we (Germany, UEFA-Rank 2) will have had buried

Spain (UEFA-Rank 1)
Holland (3)
Denmark (6)
Portugal (7)
Italy (8)
Greece (11)

Ugh. Path of Death.

Well then. There's work to do.

And for a moment I thought, Portugal could get into the finals. Congrats to Spain. And tomorrow, the drama continues.

For Spain that would be:
Germany (2)
Italy (4)
Croatia (6)
France (8)
Portugal (7)
Ireland (25)

For Italy:
Spain (1)
Germany (2)
England (5)
Croatia (6)
Ireland (25)

Average opponent rank:
6.0 for Germany
7.8 for Italy
8.7 for Spain

Just goes to show that FIFA rankings don't tell the whole story. Italy's been really tested three times already with Croatia, Spain and England proving tough opposition. Germany only had to put in effort against Portugal.

Pretty much. Denmark had little individual quality. Holland collapsed due to infighting and Greece barely survived the weakest group.

Aren't you rushing a bit? Italy doesn't have 3/4ths of its defensive line out, like Greece had.

The same, i wanted Portugal to win, but don't get because Bruno Alves was selected to for the penalty kick..

However.. is time for we to play against Germany..i don't think we have a chance.Germany is playing well, and the strikers are in good condition..Klose and especially Gomez...

Italy is ALWAYS good at big tournaments. However, I think it's about time for our series of losses against Italy to end ... at least I hope so!

Let's have a great match!

Hmmm... Germany is playing with Podolski for Schürrle and Kroos for Reus. This means that this game will be a huge battle for the center midfield. Also Gomez for Klose again.

So - expect no big fast-flowing attacking football, but a tedious grappling match with relatively few real chances for both sides.
