There are a lot of Studio Ghibli movies that have also made me have this type of reaction, because of some of the weird looking animals and creatures on their very imaginitive featured films. I love the world of Ghibli.

I think Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt has set the new standard for bizarreness; it's got constant art shifts, the most sex crazed female protagonist ever, panties and stockings being used as weapons, sperm ghosts that Stocking thinks are cute, huge amounts of innuendos, a poop monster, etc. and I've only barely scratched the surface of how bizarre the series is.
The only thing that can possibly top it is the potential second season. |

Diebuster.
It's the sequel to Gunbuster, which a OVA series from the creator of Evangelion. Gunbuster is pretty much like Evangelion, with drama, epic battles, psicological themes, deep storyline, etc. Then we have Diebuster, its sequel... I was expecting something serious and dreamatic like the first one, but no, it's something completely different. It's more like a ridicolous nonsense comedy series like FLCL (which I don't like). After the first episode I was like: "WTF?". I tried to watch the second episode but I couldn't stand it for more than 10 minutes. Imagine that you're waiting a sequel to Evangelion or any other seriuos anime, and then they give you a freaking nonsensical comedy series that is not funny at all. That's what happened to me. Fook!

Actually Diebuster is a lot more than the original than you might think except even more exaggerated. The original started off as a something of a parody of the shojo sports anime Aim for the Ace! and then with the 2nd and 3rd episodes became a serious war story and for the last 3 episodes turned into a hot blooded super robot action epic. Diebuster's the same way. It stops being a comedy starting around episode 3 and the last 3 episodes have zero comedy. Not to mention episode 4, like the original's episode 4, is a major turning point in terms of plot and characterization and also where the action gets really over the top. So I recommend you keep watching until at least episode 4. |

Love Hina/Sailor Moon/Naruto made me go WTF and I became an anime hater.
Then 5 years later Clannad made me go WTF and I became an anime lover. After then that last episode of School Days, FLCL, Saya no Uta, and Umineko were also cool WTF things.
