Regarding ch 85 ... I enjoyed the chapter, and am still looking forward to what Nodoka will pull off this round.

We would also get the 4koma that come with every chapter if someone would translate them. So far there's been 3 and they all look pretty good.

I also hope that S2 will flesh out the matches a bit more. I think Ritz is rushing so that she can get to Saki's match and that she wants to save the big theatrics for the "monsters".

It's unusual that the matches end so fast compared to the prefecture finals, even though the first 2 rounds in the prefecture tournament was pretty fast as well.. But then the first rounds of the nationals was even faster..

I don't think the match is going to end with Hatsumi doing nothing.. She's probably going to do something.. If you remember the last episode of S1 where the so called preview for S2 was shown, there's one scene where Hatsumi shocked Nodoka with her pon of west/east I think.. Probably that's when Hatsumi finally win...

The chapter brings into focus the question. Is it still a fair competition when 2 of your 3 opponents gang up on you? My guess is that Nodoka does not care about the "gameplan" from the other 2. The ending for the vice captain match should be a big turnaround in the top and last of the total score rankings

Well it happened in the previous round and in the individual arc, so i guess ppl have no problem with it.

And your right Nodoka probably doesn't care about any gameplan but i think its more likely that she doesn't know about Hatsumi. Also she doesn't believe in occult things, so she was gonna screw up the gameplan regardless.

So the 1st chapter of the spinof was translated. I found it pretty enjoyable. I liked all the new characters so far and like how they tied in the established Saki characters as well. Really looking forward to the next chapter

And now the Saki 86 is out. Very short but i did love getting a background on Miyamori. I hope next chapter we get more of Toyone in that dress.

Very very short.. But it was really good.. I wonder the 8 pages is due to the blockage of idea of Ritz or it's just a bonus to the recent chapter 85

I want to read the spinoff too.. Yet to find thing to search though..

The sidestory doesn't seem to be up on any online readers yet but you can find it if you just google the name "Saki Achiga Hen". 88 freakin' pages man, it's pretty awesome so do go check it out.

Chapter is out!! I liked the chapter overall but much happened yet. But we are back to the mahjong and Nodoka looks like her boobs are throwing the tiles instead of her hands

. The person that stole the show however was Shiromi, she was pretty sweet to check on Sae.

Yeah, really nice to read that part.. Especially that part where she goes "Hang in there!"

And does Nodoka finally got out of that "it's all coincidence" belief and finally accept that there are monsters out there????

Next chapter's going to be sweet and it looks like Sae is trying her very best to hold on but I think I expect her to not be able to hold on till the end.
