You misunderstand (again). I never thought Mao was Sheryl's mother. I thought the woman in the photo was Mao, Sheryl's grandmother.

Admittedly, she looks a little young, but do Max and Milia look 50 in Macross 7?

No, I didn't misunderstand at all. I was pointing out that at the point of Sheryls birth there was no way Mao could have looked that young anymore and that Mao was shown to be much older when Ranka was just a young girl, corroborating my first point.

Yeah Roy Focker survived that incident but then he died in SDF Macross (not to mention he was in a relationship with Claudia)

And if we go by the Kiss in the Galaxy manga (I know it's a different continuity because it follows the movie storyline but the designs are the same) it was Sheryl's father the one that was blonde.

Okay...I'm working on the original Macross TV series, the Misa Hayase novel, the original Macross novelizations, the Misa Hayase drama album, the "Macross Love" drama album and bits and pieces of "Macross Perfect Memory" right now. I've got my hands MORE than full. (And to think that Magnus keeps saying I'm in some "inner circle" who never shares anything!)

Which of these do you suggest I drop in order to accomodate your request?

I've also discovered that it's difficult for me to "shift gears" between series, as it were, and thus, any work on the Sheryl manga is liable to be slow while I got out of an SDFM TV mood and into a Frontier mood, and then my work on the SDFM TV stuff will be frozen while I'm working on the Sheryl manga. I'm already WAAAAY behind my planned schedule for these projects. Your request will cost me another six months to a year on them...which means it'll be EVEN LONGER before I get to anything beyond SDFM TV. Plus, it's simply not something I'm enthusiastic about working on, so it really WILL take a very long time to do.

So yeah...working on this will really gum up my already slow work, and hurt more than it will help. Unless your offer is CONSIDERABLE, the cons WAY outweigh the pros for me.

Have they finished the first volume? Last I saw, they'd only done the first chapter (err..."Chapter 0"), but that was a few months ago. I looked at the magazine in the bookshop the other day, and saw chapter three (err, "2"). Sheryl forms a band. Alto's playing guitar for it.

And I had such high hopes for this series...ah well.

Mili doesn't really count, she's not even human and Max is just special because he's a genius or whatever and I remember Kawamori just attributing his lack of ageing due to that.

Most of the test is too small to read, but I can see that it says it's the "hero Alto's new Valkyrie." No mention of anyone else.

It is a VF-1, this one has wings swept forward with Lucifer-esque outer wing boosters. Also canards. It's like some crazy love child between the YF-19 and the VF-27.

The concept intrigues me, although I never was a fan of the VF-27's outer wing engines this one looks kinda sleek and aggressive. I'd have to see it transform before I pass judgment. Also need to see its FAST options, gunpod, and how many micro missiles it can carry. If this is indeed it then my guess is Alto gets shot down and LAI slides him the new prototype YF-29. I'm guessing the number is a small nod to how old Macross is when this hits theaters.

Yeah the red valkyrie is a VF-1, this one looks like a mix between VF-19, SV-51, VF-27 and VF-25.
