Yep, looks like the same helmsmen as IGPX; Mitsuru Hongo is supervising and Koichi Mashimo is doing the series composition. Character design by Takuya Saito who also worked on IGPX.

It seems to be the same staff as IGPX for the large part. Not just the director and character designer (and production studio), but one of the mechanical designers, and if I'm not wrong even the audio director is the same. I perked up at reading that Yorihiro Ike is doing the music! Win!

Where on earth did you get the info about Koichi Mashimo, though? Is Masahiro Yokotani supposd to be a penname of his? God no, I hope it isn't because I think I'd probably run away...

But what is with this slew of mecha remakes

Was it some collective decision or something, I wonder...

JAM Project, ver. animation studios? Or just different sides perking up at each other's sudden announcement of classical mecha remakes and starts doing their own? Whatever, it is the fans that gets the benefit, though mecha haters may not be too pleased....

Which is why it's worth clarifying for people that Rahxephon is based on Reideen in the first place. Yeah I suspect people will bring that up alot.

Wangan MIDNIGHT, huh? Is it just me or does this manga (and anime, in future) seem to be a sort of clone of Initial D? The covers and the informations provided by the wikipedia suggest that, somehow.

Wangan Midnight was first released in 93, Initial D in 95. Wangan racing takes place on highways in the early morning hours- basically competative topspeed runs. The speeds are much higher than the mountain roads in Initial D, plus traffic and cops...

I'm somewhat interested by this development.

Wangan Midnight is better for one thing: there is REAL DANGER of racing in highways at 300+km/h.

Claymore? Awesomeness. I can never get enough of under~tier shounens. *checks off another name from my ~it'll definitely get an anime list~*

However, Claymore is pretty much hit-or-miss depending on the atmosphere it's executing. If done conventionally, I can foresee it ending up real bad.
