So I caught with translated parts... and I don't get it.

I mean I can somehow live with manga/novel protagonist being indecisive, but usually choice is supposed at least look difficult. But no matter how hard I thought I couldn't figure any reason why not choose Deet over Lia on first opportunity. It just doesn't make any sense!
