I finally decided to view a thread and a manga-reader spoiled what to expect about Gai's background. Guess I better not visit these boards anymore untill I finish the whole series. |

This episode was an awesome refresher. It had me wondering whether it was a filler or the start of the new season everyone has been expecting for so long. The plot seemed to be reused from several previous episodes, however, it did it in the best fashion so far. The unknown fighter seemed comparable to that "bone-guy" (sorry, forgot his name) in atmosphere but not to as high of a degree. Of course the plot clich did sort of diminish the quality of the overall episode.

I stated it wasn't in the manga and that all if anything adien's comment is more of a spoiler although I see what you're saying...I need to be more careful...so my bad...I never mentioned his background atleast nothing that would give anything away anyways...but I won't mention anything else...I saw the episode. I guess it was okay...although I'm tired of the fillers...

What really happened in this episode?
Everything was pacing well with Lee feeling strained due to pushing himself hard with his training, and that reminded him about the time that he got nearly paraplejic by Gaara, having worried about Tsunade's operation on him.
The pompous Yagura was just intimidating him to blow his self-esteem, but Gai's always looking forward to Lee's exploding youth. The last part left me a ' ? ' on my face. The Yagura that Guy brought with him was an imposter, and later on the mountain range of Swamp Country just falls off, and Guy has to deal with those walking kung-fu posts. They were just plain campy and went overboard with their merging to become a tea house to trap Gai. Seriously, the writers have their heads on a blank slate. |

Why Tenten and Neji praise Lee as their savior? - Gai's green jumpsuit gave them the chills and saved face thanks to Lee being the one on their team to take it all; Naruto thinks the same as Lee about the jumpsuits. Lee commenting to himself how Yagura's blows were getting heavier, which sort of recalled me of Wabisuke's ability. |
