During the early 1900s Brazil let it be known they wanted immigrants to work farms, as basically indentured servants. A lot of Japanese immigrants moved there(And the US) to find work.

LOL, even stranger is that Peru had a japanese prime minister until recently.
He was also very corrupt and basically a dictator. Had a secret police, a lot of alleged secret murders of political rivals, etc. Peru has a warrant for his arrest now.
