from the translation that I read, Eba seems like she knows the surgery exists, and that's why I am mad because Eba says "Let leave this decision to Kazama"

And based on the fact that the new girl is a loudmouth, I think Eba already knows all about the seriousness of the surgery to Kazama

like what you said, Kazama probably dropped the surgery because of Eba, but I have a funny feeling that Eba already senses that and she won't be too surprised if Kazama officially says it out

I smell a desynch. I'm pretty sure that Eba is not aware that an operation might save him permanently, rather that she thinks that it might stave off the inevitable a bit longer, and under THIS assumption she'd be perfectly right - it's Kazama's decision to make.

It's simply against her disposition to stay around Kazama letting him die, if she knew there was an alternative. Almost certainly Kazama was less than truthful, indicated by his displayed embarrassment. And Seo wouldn't have underlined that Kiyomi doesn't know Eba if it weren't important.

In a way, Kiyomi reminds me of some readers ... quick to jump to conclusions, quick to condemn without knowing all facts, quick to judge and mete out punishment. Another oh-so-Seo character.

Menty's crystal ball prediction:

o Eventually, Eba will succeed in pushing Kazama to take the operation after all by promising him not to leave him afterwards.

o Operation succeeds

If that scenario comes to pass, it wouldn't be good at all. If Kazama is the one who lets go of Eba instead of her breaking up with him on her own, there will be absolutely zero growth to her character and we'll be back at square one-- with weak girl who doesn't trust Haruto. There's no way they'd be able to build a solid relationship until she grows up and learns to face her problems. Unless Haruto wants to always be worried about her running away again.

I wouldn't seeing it where she agrees to stay with him after he gets the surgery, he gets in and it succeeds and the she dumps him afterward. After all, he manipulated her. She should take a tip from Rin and do the same to him.

If yours prediction is true - and there is a high probability you're right - I will lost last shards of respect for Eba and Haruto. They will create that way a wery poisonous relationship, where he is willing to do anything to be with his beloved girl - including living in illusions. And she will be a girl, who probably has some feelings for her partner, but no respect or not event a shadow of desire to be honest to herself and others.
In this scenario Eba won't be a person, but a defective trophy, dropped by Kazama. Haruto won't even be an secondary choice for Eba, but more like a scavenger, who took a girl/trophy, just because she was lying around without an owner.
I was interested in current development, because it looked for me like this:
1. Eba goes to Haruto, being in platonic love with her imaginary hero, before even meeting "adult" Haruto.
2. Eba won Haruto love, but at the same time, she realizes Haruto is not her imaginary paladin (thought he is trying to be), nor she needs a hero anymore.
3. Eba realizes she actually destroyed Haruto and Nanami love, she is too immature to create a decent relationship with Haruto, so she "escapes back" to Tokyo.
4. Eba founds somebody in Tokyo (Kazama) who needs her, so she devotes herself for Kazama, probably she sees her actions as a way to "reedem" for her faults.
5. Eba is too immature to end her relationship with Haruto in a decent way, for me it's just a proof she never was in love with blood and flesh Haruto.
6. Haruto goes after Eba, just to find her and himself in a strange triangle relationship.
7. Haruto realizes that he has to win Ebas love, her love for him was not granted as he, as well as many posters here, imagined. He also decide to fight for his love even against a "death wish" of his "friend".

LAst actions of Haruto proves he has grown up. He is no longer a kid with a hero complex, but a young man, who is avare love is not granted, but must be earn, and who is assertive enough to pursue his own goals even against someones else wishes. Haruto is not responsible for Kazama situation or desires.

KNIM has 4 main characters, Nanami, Haruto, Eba and Kazama (who replaced Nanami as "the third"). So far Nanami and Haruto grown up, Eba and Kazama are still a selfish and immature kids (I suppose they see themselves as the altruistic ones).
