Turns out it's actually a pair of movies. The first one, a recap of the TV series, will be released on March 15. The second, a new story taking place one year later, will be released on April 25.

So basically, KyoAni is doing sequels or films for every show they've done in the last five years except the one that deserves it.

Well, to stay on topic, I wonder how they'll deal with the first movie. A lot of people know how much of a complete recap the Chuu2 movie was (except for a few minutes of new footage at the beginning and at the end) and it left most of us completely baffled, so here's to hoping that the OVA gets integrated into the movie with a lot more original footage added.

They could easily turn the last volume into a movie. They padded the material for the TV series anyway. But as stated, KyoAni is pretty much uninterested in anything they don't own outright at this point, like KnK (see? On-topic!)

...This very season they're doing an adaptation for Kadokawa, so your point is kind of undermined. The issue is just that it's not their decision, unlike this franchise and the others they own where they're the only ones responsible for sales/promotion/etc. Given that animating is their major business, it makes sense they'd use that to promote the franchises published under their label. What Kadokawa wants to do to promote their books is up to them.

At the very least, the second one will be new content.

From the vibe of the preview for the movie, it makes it seem like Mirai is still fighting somewhere far away from Akihito or due to circumstances, they are apart....but she will ways find him or be around.....I think.

Anyone can properly translate what Mirai said?

Will this movie finally have them call each other by first name?

Still found it odd that they still called each other by last name with suffixes when they both proclaimed they love each other, to be honest.

Holy cow, they even prefer Free to get more projects instead.

The rage of the fujoshis is something else....

But still, they at least got a second season....Kyoukai Kanata is just receiving two movies while the light novel has not made a new one for over a year.

That's because at least Free makes you pass the time over its ridiculous premise... KnK was just bland.

Ah this episode settles it. Our cosplay group would be investing a little on this anime. I'd ask Karen if she likes to cosplay as Mitsuki Nase (idol version would cost too much cash, but we could probably afford the school uniform version + wiggu). :3

Mirai's problem with Sakura seems to be solved now.
