Well, the problem here is that in VC2, it doesn't really involve the Empire... Its Gallia dealing with an internal rebellion.

So, it seems that with VC2's release, the "Happily Ever After" epilouge of the game is yet to take effect. I now put VC1's epilouge sometime after 1940-41, assuming the child Alicia's having (not spoiling her name) is born 1937-38.

Also, a look into their guns from EWI, assuming the Lansel guns are retrofits (the M-Series being after the Magses depicted in VC2, of course). EWI itself... eh...

Did it ever say how long the 1st Euporan war lasted for and how long of a period was between both wars, I think it was 20 years between EW1 and EW2.

Kind of facts I need for a fanfic of mine and general knowledge. Can't look it up on my PS3 cuz it's gone for the time being

Yes. It was stated as at least 20 years between the end of EWI and the start of EWII. I'd say it ended in 1915 at the latest - incidentally, when World War I was starting to kinda pick up for us.

From Nahum's skin tone, I'd say it was in the middle-east. From his voice... I'd say they speak British English. Granted, though Freesia York was pretty dark-toned.

It could also be entirely made up. Dryer is his surname as well.

To be fair, many monarchs in the Middle East, particularly countries friendly with the UK, sent their heirs there to study, many at Sandhurst - for instance Jordan's King Abdullah, who speaks British English and trained as an Army officer at Sandhurst (the British Army's equivalent of Lanseal).

On the other hand, as Red has pointed out, Dryer being his surname doesn't mean the country is called Dryer; as an example the British Royal Family is known as the House of Tudor, William and Harry use the surname Wales while serving as RAF & Army officers...

As my Royal Navy source told me, the Naval College at Dartmouth had students from all over the world, despite being predominantly British. Heck he could be from this place's version of Israel - Nahum is a Hebrew name, and isn't very commonly used in English (as opposed to "Sarah", which means princess, and is the most common Hebrew Female Name in English).

This is the part where I'd go on a rambling lecture on how English has loanwords from various sources, etc etc, and that many names come from all over the place or are corruptions of their original languages (e.g. Welsh-origin surnames Bowen and Pritchard are corruptions of Ap Owen and Ap Richard)... so I'll just skip the lecture with a Top Gear Style Fade to black...

Regards Gallia, I think Max wanted to capture the country quickly for several reasons:

1. Resources. As has been stated repeatedly, Gallia is rich with Ragnite. VC2 suggests, however, that Gallia - or at least the rebels - are having problems with Ragnite supply, possibly from damaged mines/refineries & less workforce, since the rebels needed a supply of ragnite from Townshend for their big push. Note that Kuwait had similar problems with their oil in the Gulf War, as the Iraqis set their oilfields ablaze.

2. The Valkof. The superweapon Valkyrian lance which was disguised as the citadel of the palace at Randgriz.

3. Valkyrian blood. By taking Cornelia as his bride, he'd hoped to breed Valkyria into his line, in effect stating, "I may be of common blood, but this common blood has Valkyur sons and daughters!"

I want to point out, however, that the Imperials may have singed a non-agression treaty/peace treaty/what have you for a keen reason - they can't be bothered to fight here. Consider the losses Maxmillian's forces sustained - the Imperials are not made of men, despite their Germanic-Soviet influences, and must use their troops where needed. If conquering Gallia results in them owning a country of ash, where all the mines have been sabotaged, then there's no point at all.

Note that immediately after D-Day, the allies made attempts to capture a number of key ports from the Germans. By the time the ports were captured, they'd been so badly damaged by the defenders that it took months to get them ready again. The Imperials may be wanting to avoid this situation.

3 is kinda moot considering he already knew Cornelia was a Darscen. In fact he didn't mind making her his bride(unlike his anime counterpart who grew hissy fit over it.)

1. I think that the V2's are simply way too power consumptive to be able to have on-board power generators. Hence the Tesla coils - the supply vehicles don't have ragnite on them, but instead carry a generator (they have the coils, too). "Recources" could also be used to refer to the various other war-making materials aside from Ragnite - weapons, machinery, and food.

2. I wouldn't be surprised. That thing was essentially the Tsar Bomba of Europa. If that had been developed in a neutral country and was public, I have no doubt that (realistically) NATO and the USSR would have fought over it. However, since it was (semi-)secret, it was first come, first serve. Max happened to be the first (though his "Reuseable Tsar Bomba" got destroyed in the Marmota's flames).

3. He did seem utterly unsurprised, but remember he says at about the same time he orders Selvaria to kill herself that he thinks he can get an alternate source of Valkyrian power. AV technology not withstanding, one would assume he was referring to Cordelia.

That was towards the endgame; while he doesn't show a hissy fit and rolls with the punches, if we look back to the beginning he'd been hoping of a Valkyrian bride.

However, he can still salvage the situation - Cordelia may not be a Valkyur, but public perception of her is as one, and he can still spin that to his advantage...

Regards 1; generators would need ragnoline, mate . But your point on warmaking resources is valid - that said, the biggest problem in the allied push to the Rhine was being short on gas.

If not Cordelia, whom he assumed to be Valkyur, there's also Project Valhalla - apparently Selvaria was a test subject from there; postwar the Project Valhalla head defected to Gallia and went to work at Lanseal, experimenting with turning students into AV as well as with her own Valkyria, Aliasse.
