i have to say despite the good gameplay, the storytelling of xillia is bad, and its like copy-paste-edit of symphonia + 1 horrible big fat coward liar called alvin (i was hoping he would become chara like raven but... Meh)

please someone tell me about xillia 2... about the storytelling of course... the improvement and such... I cant wait for english release, please dont say "i dont want to spoiler..." i want to know -_-

Story in Xillia 2 is massively better. It's really the only thing that keeps it from being worse in my opinion (some love the gameplay changes, but the bad parts annoy me more than I enjoy the good parts). It's easily the darkest Tales game (evident by the higher rating (C instead of B)).

Aaaaaaaaaaaaand it's out in August 22nd (right when I'm in Japan LOL). There's a collector edition and a day one edition.

Meh, day one edition for me. I have no interest in a Ludger figure, though the pocket watch replica sounds interesting. Unless, of course, the collector's edition is the only way to get the pre-order costumes. I love the Yuri!Jude one, and the Emil!Ludger one is surprisingly fun. It does have problems displaying for the story, though.

Also, what do you mean 22nd? That the European date? Siliconera says 19th for the US.

Also they do say it's the ludger collector edition, maybe there will be another collector edition with the loli inside?

I'd need the Milla shown in the gameplay footage on Siliconera before I bought the CE again. Neither Ludger nor Elle were characters I'd jump at the chance to get a figure of.

nice. been waiting for them to announce the release day to NA like forever. i'll probably just order the
regular edition though. can't wait for this game as well as SAO, SS delta...and whatever
else jrpgs that are going to come over here in 2014. my wallet is going to scream like bloody murder!

Glad we finally have a release date on this. Felt like it could be released at any time this year with how long we were in the dark.

Will probably go regular edition. Not much in the special that I really need.

You know I did. I picked up my pre-order a few hours ago. I just got to chapter 4 and I'm having a blast! It's really awesome to play Jude again, but Ludger I'm getting used to.

Now if you'll excuse me. I'm off to do some side quests before I advance the main story towards chapter 5.

I canceled my pre-order when it turned out the only pre-order bonus was for Collector's Editions. I have enough of a backlog to hold out until later this year when it'll be $20 or lower. Plus, I've already played the Japanese version with Madoka costumes, so not in a rush to play it in English without them.
