For me Marina is just simply beautiful literally and metaphorically. Her kindness and thougfullness just touch some people heart. I guess she might be the type that secretly popular among viewer. and the plus point for me is that somehow she radiates this "tease me" aura. She migh be fun to tease *drooo~l* oops

Yeah, because Marina (and Setsuna) is very dense. So I think if you tease her, she'll take it seriously and have a heart attack. LOL

Haman pretty much is the best female leader and pilot in Gundam. She was able to beat both Titan and AEUG in Zeta, if there was never an internal conflict in Neo Zeon she would have emerged as victorious in ZZ.
I also voted for Diana and Kihel, bot are very respectable characters and a great character. And both Tifa and Reelna are great characters as well.
Even though Marina might not have done much but I love her devotion to her country and her strong desire to help the people of her country.

Also shouldn't Tieria be there as well?

Would it have been better if she had jumped in front of Gato and died instead with Kou killing her? Or maybe if Gato turned out to be her long lost brother instead of a past lover people would understand her better. One of the best Gundam girls ever hands down in my book.

Well Gundam 00 is the current airing Gundam and has high popularity even with people who have never watched any previous Gundams. Its not just Marina, not counting 'others', Soma comes at second, both ladies are the only ones who has more than 30 votes.

If all Gundam series are to air now and every one who voted has watched every single series, I doubt Marina and Soma would be the top favourites.

Err..."Moeness"? I can't see any damn thing while watching her,Marina single handlely clouded my mind. Her innocent look does give me the creep,she so adoreable.She remind me of Relena Peacecraft.
