It doesnt matter which region version you buy right??
You can still connect to US Battle Net if you use Asia Version / Europe Version??

Need confirmation on this before pre-ordering...

From battle.net pre-order page:

Please note that your game-client version does not hinder your ability to select which regional game servers – the Americas, Europe, or Asia – that you play on.
And here

Quote:
Will there be separate auction houses in each region? Will I be allowed to bid on items from players outside my own region?

Due to various factors, including technology, language, and currency, there will be multiple separate auction houses serving different player communities around the world. We'll share specific details on how the auction houses will work for each region as we get closer to launch.
You can play on any realm you want, but the auction house you can access is according to the version you purchased.

So how would that work for digital purchases considering it's a global version being sold on bnet? auction houses based on which region/server you're playing on?

Probably your IP. I imagine it has to do with international laws, different national laws, and that maybe they just don't want to deal with currency exchange rates.

I don't know. When I access the battle.net, it says I can only purchase SEA version, while my brother is offered an US version. Probably they are determined the moment you make your purchasing with your battle.net account.

RMAH will go with your purchased version, not the server you choose to play on if I understand correctly.

I believe it is based on your main contact address on your b.net account. Not sure why but apparently i lived in Texas and was offered the NA version. (had to change my password after finding out about that)

Funny enough, i was offered SEA version of SC2.

Congrats. Did hear they were sending out a pretty large next wave of beta invites. The closer this gets the more time I'm probably going to spend playing the beta .

Talking

Hmm... some initial thoughts about the Diablo3 beta.
  • First off, some context. The beta covers the first major arc of the game, which is also more or less the tutorial arc. You enter the town of New Tristram and work your way to killing King Leoric the Skeleton King... again. Bugger just refuses to die doesn't he?
    .
  • Since it is the tutorial arc, it is next to impossible to die unless you intentionally do stupid things like melee multiple Champion Mobs with a Wizard without using spells, or stubbornly stand in very flashy whirlwinds during boss fights. I have done dozens of full runs already, and I have yet to see anybody die.
    .
  • The matchmaking still needs some fine-tuning. After maxing out (Lvl-13) my first character (Wizard), I started a second character (Demon Huntress) and tagged her as Hardcore.

Matchmaking is supposedly done by choosing which questline you want to do and they group you up with other characters on the same quest. Unfortunately, when I zoned in with my Lvl-02 DHuntress, I found out to my mortification that they were going on an End-Boss run and had already started to do so.

Armed with only what can be described to be a pea-shooter and the rags on my back, I tagged along and tried not to become roadkill from the monsters who grossly outlevelled me.

Fortunately, I managed to complete the run with them and got a King Leoric kill at Lvl-04. Boss was a douchebag though, who kept targeting me for his teleportation cleave attack (rips about 60% of my hp).
    .
  • As the level cap is 13, casters are a bit held back as a lot of their juicy spells are out of reach. You will still have amazing utility though. Wizards can actually use their Frost Nova spell to freeze Bosses. Not chill, freeze. A big change from Diablo2 where bosses are immune to freeze effects.
    .
  • Awkward as it may be, to deal the most damage in the beta, you will need to use 2-handed weapons as you don't have access to skills to boost your damage through dualwielding. This includes Wizards. My Wizard is currently using a crafted 2-handed Sword and kicking ass with it.
    .
  • The meat of the gameplay is definitely via multiplayer. You get bonus XP, gold, and the synergy of four characters working together towards a common goal. The Boss Pinata. With a tank(Barb/Monk), 2 dps, and 1 utility, you will more or less rip through the content like a chainsaw through hot butter.
    .
The Templar NPC companion is basically useless in combat. Making singleplayer a tad tedious as you need to cover all aspects to make it through. In multiplayer, you can specialise your role and really make a big impact.
    .
  • People don't talk much. I usually have to break the ice to make sure I'm playing with fellow human beings.
    .
  • Because people are not dying... I am having a lot of difficulty with the Achievement to "revive" a hero from each class.
    .
  • Crafting plays a HUGE role in your equipment loadout. Most of your resources will be spent in crafting. It is basically gambling, but with reagents. Makes it hard to earn gold too, or at least, harder than Diablo2, because you will want to salvage your magical gear for the crafting reagents.
    .
If the Gaming Gods smile on you and bless your craft with the right properties, you will basically not find a better drop unless it is a rare with better properties. With all the possible suffixes and prefixes, you will be gambling a lot.
Cheers.

I thought they increase the difficulty of the beta. Guess that still isn't enough, huh?

It'd be better playing with Skype, I think.

How do you even play with Skype. What kind of game do you think Skype is?

The kind of game alot of clans use to communicate with.
I know even console gamers use Skype for coms rather than in game coms.

Sounds not bad but still not sure if I'll be getting the game really, GW2 is top of my list and don't think I'll find the time for anything else

The difficulty definitely went up a bit. Took some time between runs with the wizard and it was tougher the second time around, though of course still not in danger of dying. But nothing wrong with the tutorial arc being easier since it will certainly ramp up after that no matter the difficulty setting.

Yes and there's also Mumble
For GW2 , i think the release date is at June cuz Arenanet won't miss the chance of the summer holyday so around 1month to play Diablo3 but well , is it worth it ?

Hardcore levelling is currently difficult in the Beta due to the absolute lack of players willing to play Hardcore, even though...
  1. As mentioned before, you can't possibly die unless you suffer a sudden stroke and starting humping the bosses' cleaves.
    .
  2. It's BETA. You won't get to keep your characters, so why not go hardcore? It's not like you're in danger of losing a high-level character.

Softcore mode easily has at least 1750+ players at any one time. The lowest I saw was 900+, during a period when most NAmericans would be sleeping.

Hardcore in comparison... has about 75-150 players. It is that tragic.

As such, I will probably need to re-level a Demon Hunter on softcore mode. Currently juggling between Wizard, Demon Hunter and Witch Doctor. The nice thing about the multiple characters is that they share the same stash, the same artisans, and the same gold.

However, only softcore with softcore, and hardcore with hardcore.

I will see if I can FRAPs a King Leoric run later on.

Cheers.

I think you're going to see a lot more hardcore players on release date, trust me. Why invest time and nerves when it's just beta...game's only a month away.

I noticed a flyer for a collector's edition in Best Buy yesterday, noting that it mentioned "in-game exclusives" with the collector's edition pre-order. What are said exclusives?
