-Needless to say, in the novel there was no environment destruction.
-Araragi said to Karen that if she was going to be unreasonable he would have kissed her another time. Karen replied that she already lost something important, so she doesn't fear anything anymore.
-Karen: "In my eyes an iron fist, in my teeth an iron fist too"
Araragi: "The more you talk the more you look like a stupid"
-Karen complains that Araragi never told her things like "Hold on", "Don't lose", "Get him".
-Araragi couldn't see the second attack. The first time Karen wasn't going easy, the second time she was serious.
-Kanbaru would have been deeply moved if she heard Araragi calling her the biggest pervert.
-Araragi managed to grab one of her ankles, she used that as a pivot leg and tread on his flank. He felt like his internal organs have been crushed. He didn't let her ankle go, but after three kick he couldn't resist anymore. This scene is portrayed slightly different in the anime.
-Patting Shinobu's head is a sign of obedience between vampires. Washing Shinobu's hair had a nuance like that too.
-Araragi reflected on how arrogant he was in thinking he could have killed Karen on the spur of the moment.
-Karen had become so strong in so little time Araragi thought her master was the Grand Elder (the one in Namek saga of Dragon Ball). She was so out of place she must have been an anime original character.
-Araragi was bleeding. He would have later offered that blood to Shinobu as an apology.
-When Karen attacked him with a kakato otoshi (axe heel), Araragi felt he wouldn't have been able to stop the blow, but in actuality that was just a feint.
-When Karen used the capoeira move, Araragi felt like he was striken with a wooden bat. His arms became numb. He never thought an attack from a handstand could do so much damage.
-Since Karen was in a weak physical condition, she was using inertia and the centrifugal force to attack.
-From this point the fight was skipped in the anime. Karen used her legs as sickles when kicking Araragi's shins, as scissors in the neck throw and then as whips in kicking him while downed. Araragi resorted to throw stones at a middle schooler. Karen intercepted the stones with a kick and the kick disintegrated them.
-Araragi remarked Karen was too strong, "1/12th model of Sister Princess" (a dating sim where the main characters had 12 sisters). Karen replied those were normal sisters.
-Karen attacks Araragi with a rolling sobat, and then kicked him another two times in the head. He felt like Anpanman when he received a new face from Uncled Jam (in other words like his face has been blown off).
-Araragi remarked Karen was spinning so much he was like an electric fan. "1/6th model of Futakoi" (a story about six pairs of twins). Karen pointed out she and Tsukihi weren't twins. It seems originally that was the setting though.
-Karen jumped on Araragi's shoulders, then jumped again and she was going for a knee drop. Araragi remarked she was "1/5th model of Happy Lesson". Karen replied those weren't sister but mothers.
-Araragi evaded the knee drop by creeping away, Karen spinned in mid air and landed safely, then wrapped her legs around Araragi's arms and her arms around his neck.
-Araragi is confused about the martial art school Karen attends too. She uses moves from karate, judo, jujitsu, capoeira, jet kune do...
-Karen: "I know from experience that a choke can make you swoon nicely. I wanted to use it on my brother once"
Araragi: "Who is the guy who choked you? I won't forgive him!"
Karen: "It was you!" {it was mentioned in the first chapters}
Karen: "I'll settle a long standing grudge"
Araragi: "You are changing your objective..."
-Karen's physical conditions were too bad so the choke had no effect. Araragi shook her off his back, then they got up. Araragi aimed at grabbing her jersey, Karen dodged it but received a headbutt. Araragi had to close his eyes for that, Karen entered his blind spot and hit him with a chop in his temple. He collapsed on the asphalt, but got up immediately after that.
-"Cleaning up after another" in Japanese is literally "cleaning one's butt". Talk about innuendo.
-Kaiki met Senjougahara and Araragi on the rooftop of a department store. They specifically didn't want to meet Kaiki in a closed room or a deserted place. On that rooftop there actually was a small amusement park and a stage where they were projecting a sentai show. This is faithful to the novel
-Kaiki says that when the words and the heart don't match, it is hasty to deem the words as lies. Maybe it was the heart the lie.
-Kaiki laughs like a crow.
-Kaiki says he is only thinking about escape, and for that he is willingly complying to what Senjougahara and Araragi say. Araragi is puzzled over why Kaiki even came there in the first place.
-Kaiki says that until he received the phone call he had forgotten about Senjougahara.
-Kaiki talks about shogi. He says it is a low level game, but in competition it's timed so the important thing is to think things fast. This is true in life as well. Kaiki says people who think too much are as easy to deceive as people who don't think at all.
-Kaiki came thinking he would have been killed.
-Senjougahara asked him why he came back to this city, and Kaiki replied he had forgotten he has already been there. He came there because he heard there appeared a vampire, the king of kaii. It was also a good place for occult-related things (because it was an air pocket for spirits).
-After Kaiki went away, Araragi thought that unlike Oshino he actually said a proper goodbye, although it was insincere. Araragi also regretted he did nothing that could have looked cool to her sister, although he though he passed the test.
-When Araragi replied that Senjougahara saved herself on her own, he regretted not being able to say something more cool.
-It seems Senjougahara disliked Oshino because he resembled Kaiki, although to be exact Kaiki is the one she hates.
-For Araragi Kaiki is a natural enemy. It wouldn't be strange if the next time they met they would try to kill each other.
-Tsukihi was mad at Karen for sneaking away without saying anything. Araragi was puzzled at how they arrived at that yuri scene (it seems there is a myth that you can heal a cold with body warmth).
-For now Araragi avoided talking his sisters about kaii, though he thought one day not so far away he would have been able to introduce them to Shinobu.
