I've been having an awful lot of people quoting the manga here and disregarding the anime as "trash/non-canon".

As I said, those "releases/techniques" are not as defined as shikai and Bankai.

However, as has been stated, the techniques a released arrancar uses that already come with their bodies (Grimm's elbow projectiles or Shawlong's scorpion braid thing) are more along the lines of Shikai - such as GT or Senbonzakura. All of the released fraccion that we've seen never went past this.

Grimm's Desugaron required him to utter another command, and it raised his power level (I am seriously beginning to feel like a parrot now. How often have I said "power level" up till now?) higher and made him more deadly. Of course, little did it help against the indestructable plotkai, but that was to be expected.

Also... does being a Vaizard mean you don't age? Because if you ask me, aside from Hachi and Love (is it?) they all look (and in some cases, act) in their 'teens', which would put them around Rukia's age - maybe even younger, and so far we've been shown that Shinigami do age.

The reatsu in Ichi vs. Grimm round 2 went into his mask, because he wasn't proficient enough with [the mask], and therefore required lots of power to keep it there. Note how he was exhausted after those "11 seconds". I am willing to wager that just like it was with his bankai, he is once again condensing "10 years into 3 days" thanks to his reatsu. I think Ichigo is a lot stronger than Shinji, HOWEVER, he lacks experience, which is quite key when it comes to battles. Therefore, Shinji would and should have the upper hand if he and Ichigo ever fight.

the released Fraccion are actually a rather poor example as most of them were killed off quickly... there intial release was enough to deal with those they were fighting, until the poeple they fought decided to release their limits and end the fight fast...

As i said, the arrancar release is like Bankai... while some only have a single power use, others have multiple uses...

and if you don't recall, in shonen anime, characters have a tendancy to anounce their attacks the first time they use them if not every time... i know Ichigo has been saying the name of GT when he first started using the attack; the same goes for Grimjow. You say the deserugon raised Grim's power level; i ask you too look back at the whole fight and tell me how much "power" he really gained from it. like i said, Ichigo and Grim were having an even fight, neither one really winning... Grim used Desugaron a gained an extremly slight advantage over Ichigo before Ichigo fought back and beat him. it wasn't a very powerful increase at all... much like Ichigo's GT the attack can do serious damage and give a slight advantage, but it is not like Shikai, Bankai, or Vizard form which can pull a 180 with how a battle is going... at best i guess its an extremely low level Shikai kind of power boost good for a momentary advantage, but in no way a serious boost. (lower than like Ikkaku's, as opposed to something strong like Byakuya's or Mayuri's)

it's unknown how old they can be since anyone from soul society ages very slowly... Urahara and Yourichi aswell are very old. without knowing how slow SS poeple age, there really is no way of telling how large of a age gap there could be between characters... for all we know, having a body that's appears to be 1 year older may mean that the person is actually 50 years older

Well, I'd have to say, my current rankings are:

Shinji>Grimmjow>Ichigo>Byakuya/Kenpachi

However, since Grimmjow's and ichigo's strengths keep fluctuating (due to Grimmjow's losing and regaining his arm, and Ichigo's struggle to master his Hollow mask, I can't tell which of the two is stronger atm. It could be that they're evenly matched, in the end.)

I still don't get how Yami could possibly be an Espada since he's a) an idiot, and b) incredibly weak, especially compared to the other Espadas. And I think Ichigo could have beaten him easily, if not for his inner Hollow getting in the way at the worst possible moment.

By the way, how strong is Ulquiorra? I get from Aizen's confidence in him that he must be incredibly strong. How does he compare with the other Espadas and the Gotei 13 Squad Captains?

Ulq is ranked no. 4 meaning he's 4th strongest in overall combat ability. With that power, he was able to deflect a Getsuga Tenshou from vizard Ichigo with his bare hands and defeated Ichigo without even drawing his zanpakuto. Don't really know how he compares with the Gotei 13 captains, but I'd guess he'd can match or defeat most of them.

Ichigo needs to slap Old Man Zangetsu until he tells him an attack that is not GT then slap Hollow Ichigo until Ichigo can use bala or cero then slap both until they can give him an attack combination.

They won't be seen in the anime for a long, long time judging from that they haven't been even seen at all in the manga after Ichigo's gang left and each episode typically takes a week to come out so... maybe next year?

My point exactly... I wonder if Kubo Tite is purposely holding back plots involving the Vizard or he has no idea how to incorporate them. I've stopped following the anime since last year sometime, but even the manga deprives me of what I can see as the the "vizard-goodness"... LOL

I'm pretty sure the Vizards are at least equal to the top 3 Espada.

It's 100 years AFAIK not 1000.

The recent Spoilers show that Shinji, Love and Rose were former Captains', with Hiyori as a VC. So at least 3 of the Vizard have Bankai.

If the Spoiler is Correct. Vizard=Top 3 Espada, or even Vizard>Top 3 Espada.
