Ohio gozaimasu mina-san! How is everyone doing? As indicated in the preview last week, this episode should explore Halibel's past. While I wasn't impressed with the display of power by the upper ranks, their respective background stories were nice. Halibel's past hopefully will further my understanding toward her fascination with "sacrifice" and the true reason for joining with Aizen. I'm also hoping Gin will get some air time in the episode. He is the best in the business when it comes to getting inside someone's head.

Okay... he may... a little bit with Aizen-sama around, but those are the kind of things that should be taking place within the confinement of a room. When he sucks (or blows), it's because Aizen-sama approves.

I found the story regarding Halibel's Fracion boring.. but I found her past interesting it's a shame she's dead now.. I don't get why they dedicate a whole episode to someone who had less than 20-30 episodes and no more than 10-20 minutes screen time tops such a episode though :|

So... Halibel=Vasto Lorde is confirmed. I found it odd that, with her human face, she looked more like an arrancar.

This also shows that an Adjuchas-level arrancar is stronger than a Vasto Lorde, which means Hitsugaya greatly exaggerated the VLs' power.

^actually in the databook just released, it appears that 'most' of the espada were vasto lorde level,
possibly from grimjow upwards,
thats what kubo says anyway

and well hitsugaya fails, or kubo just retconned the vl's power and chose aizen to get the main threat instead

I'm not sure why they are bothering to tell us about the past of a character who is for all intents and purposes dead and we will never see again. Who gives a shit?

Oh wait... I forgot... they have to extend the anime any way possible before jumping back into a filler arc. My bad.

I'd actually be cool with looking at the past of a character if it A) made sense and B) was executed well. This was neither.

according to Hitsugaya : normal VL >>> captain
according to top 3 espada fights: captain >>> arrancar VL
according to this episode : arrancar adjuchas (the random shark guy) >>> normal VL (Halibel)

Yeah, yeah I know, power levels are a mess in bleach, but it is always fun seeing the gatting eve messier lol

which by default makes Stark VL too.

Yup that confidence aizen has is essentially saying that ALL of the espada and arrancar up till now were nothing more than a waste of time because he, gin and tousen, can get by just fine on their own... would it really be asking so much the Aizen actually look a little worried?... Really, when you consider that vice captains can be crushed by spiritual pressure alone the ONLY worthwhile damage the arrancar have managed was knocking out ONE captain... well I guess you could also credit them for managing to distract the 4 stuck in HM

yup... in the end, the vastolorde that we were told that we so powerful that they would be a challenge for even the captains of soul society, were in fact so weak that even as the more powerful Arrancars, they were still beaten by nothing more than shikai... Honestly this is just like the bullshit we got when Rukia told us how powerful Menos grandes were (in which later on we see her effortlessly take out an arrancar in one move)... ya the soul society research team really needs to get their shit together.

btw, nobody tell kubo that "holes" are actually empty spaces of colorless air and are not actually colored "black"
