It was decent. I can't go beyond a 7.5/10. Because that subplot really took over the movie. Also, it is way too non-conflict for me to believe. Everything is resolved too easily, everyone gets along instantly. That said, I have to give it props for a cast that actually has relative common sense and that there was a unifying goal, along with showing some values of older ways/culture in the face of modern social media. Also that some permanent growth happened with Cherry and Smile. But there's a lack of impact. You know what's coming and there's not much emotion from it. It merely feels like it ticked off a checklist of building to a feelgood moment. It felt like it was designed to be easily digestive and non-offensive as possible. Which is concerning. At least Netflix were able to arrange something that wasn't a flop but...if something this simple is going to be the ceiling of what they get involved with, it's disheartening.
Tl;dr - Worth seeing once. Won't be in a rush to see it again. Decent but could and should have been better.

I thought this was quite charming in a very straightforward and non-cynical way. Captures the innocence of youth and the pain of social awkwardness with considerable authenticity. Not your film if you're looking for irony but for what it is, it's very well done.
