This anime is a lot more realistic than Yugioh. It is telling children that they are just going to play a game and they will need money for it. It will not be about saving the world from doomsday artifacts that mindwash people ... for free. XD

Well I suppose it's more blatant then pizza hut ads in Code Geass, but still technically there was no money exchange involved (that we saw).

There is product placement, and then there is showing the purchase of this product. You can get away with minor product placement in a show in America (counts as advertisement time, taking away from commercials), but I don't think they would ever show you purchasing this product. In Japan laws are vastly different.

Yes, that is a good idea too. Let the toddlers speculate how they found the decks and make the show appear more complicating than it really is.

It was moderate episode, but I do not like how it basically came down to luck. Aichi could have very well won if the game required more skill and less luck.

Let's play animation error bingo. Getting a card grade wrong was probably the worst of them.

And I'd almost say he probably keeps on losing so they can sell the idea of "You gotta buy better cards than the pre-cons if you want to win," but that's probably giving the marketing department way too much credit.

Spoiler for episode 6: It becomes more and more Yugioh in this episode, which is sad because I thought so far it was different. Monsters became holograms, they stand in Yugioh-like arenas, they talk about getting to tournaments and they even exchance cards of friendship. Plus, someone is monitoring Aichi, as if she is checking for possible heroes to save the world from a future threat... like in Yugioh. And is it me or did an entire shop appear out of nowhere just to have this duel and then disappeared? Oh, and Aichi lost once again. CHANGE YOUR CARDS YOU IDIOT! The woman in the shop was probably so frustrated with him, she gave him a grade 3 because he was too stupid to figure it out himself. And the grade 3 idiot is irritating as always. He practically drooled all over that girl a dozen times, which got boring quite fast. And if you ask me, he was there just to interupt the match and waste airing time. Boy, this episode ruined the good image I had from the previous 3 ones. If it becomes more formulaic than it already is, I'm calling it a Yugioh wannabe and drop it.
