I really hope they license the show after the OVA. because i REALLY love this show. it's the right amount of comedy, with not to much fan-service

Licensing this show would be a huge mistake. The jokes would fall completely flat for a western audience. Example: The Terminator sailor uniform and the masa-chan jokes would be down right creepy if one is either not familiar with Japanese Culture or otaku subculture in general.

The Terminator jokes would be understood. The sailor uniforms would disgust pretty much anyone who was not already into anime. But I guess this show was directed to anime fans anyways.

How so? I mean I know some people who aren't familiar with it....and this show still cracks them up.

do you mean to say the western lacks common sense? Seriously, even if they are not familiar with the Japanese Culture some of them (if not all) will still get the joke. I mean c'mon it was funny as hell

Perhaps ...perhaps not Masa-san seems to hold mom's undivided attention.

And at any rate, i need something definite on the San / Nagasumi front before i can start to worry about the "romance problems" of other people in this show

Alright, my 2 Seto no Hanayome fandiscs have arrived a few days ago and I watched through them.

Spoiler for Stuff in the fandiscs:

Pretty neat stuff. They made mtvs for some of the character songs in the cds. Mostly they are a bunch of screenshots in the anime spliced together with some additional effects like the song title and the names of the anime character singing them. It's like official fan-made AMVs.

Then they included a couple of new skits based on "Today's Masa-san" and "Mawari's Interrogation".

The highlight of the fandiscs are probably the 30sec trailers of the OVAs.

Spoiler for heavy spoilers of OVA plot:

From what I see, one of the story is based on the cinema plot in the manga which features Saru's little sister (as I predicted).

Another story is based on the delinquent class arc in the latest Manga volume... which is unexpected as this means they skipped several volumes of material involving new characters like Satan and Maki's sister.

Then there are a few commentary-tracked episodes. Can't remember which.

But my favourite is definitely the mtv of Masa-san and Nagasumi-Mom's duet song. They actually used real life actors to act in the mtv! They did it in Karaoke style where the lyrics are done karaoke style and you get to see real life Masa-san drinking his whisky in Mama's bar!
Absolutely hilarious and awesome!
