Hm. Now that I think about it, you guys do have a point. Kamachi's MCs tend to be, uh, not well-informed in matters like these more-or-less. It's just that the spoilers provided in this thread before JS06 continued with the translation implied to me that the relationship between Kyousuke and White Queen continued to deteriorate by the volume. An example being the pinky promise the two made, mentioning should he break it, he would lose his pinky, I believe? This is followed by Kyousuke losing a limb in present time. Perhaps, I'm just interpreting this one way and it could be foreshadowing for something bigger.

Then again, this is Kamachi, who, as much he enjoys mercilessly teasing and playing around with the romance genre, provides surprisingly satisfying, complete endings so I have hope this novel won't end in despair for the two.

In the end, the one who's writing all this is the hopeless romantic in me lol. I'll start on this novel once JS06 finishes volume 3.

Spoiler for V3 C2P7-10 & C3P1-3:

Biyondetta used Lu and Aika to get more info on the Anthills. Also, Lu's martial arts skills reach a new ridiculous point by basically being able to become invisible so to cause Incense Grenades to fail. Because Kamachi needed to reinforce the fact that she's a monster that can easily kill summoners on her own even more.

Chapter 3 delves a little more into Biyondetta's side as she and Kuina prepare to attack the Government evacuation that is sure to follow. Unfortunately for Kyousule, Aika and Lu got into trouble for the info being stolen like that, so he has to cover for them by taking care of Biyondetta, which he plans to do by using Maria as a bait. Maria takes the chance to reveal she's aware of his relationship with Biyondetta. Shame that this was revealed by the spoilers, it would have had a lot more impact. Anyway, Kyousuke and Biyondetta should meet up soon

I haven't read vol 4, but from spoilers and illustrations the White Queen might appear a little more. Note that, like in the three previous volumes, there's also new female vessel for Kyousuke who'll likely act as the volume's heroine.

I'm going out on a limb and say that Kyousuke probably still wishes to never meet the White Queen again.

At the start Kyousuke lost some of his memories and finds White Queen in bed with him for some reason. For most of the novel he teams up with her (not really, more like White Queen is just following him around to be entertained) to find out what the hell is going on, because his Vessel for the day was gone as well. Even before finding out the truth he still hates her, very, very much so, almost to a callous degree. At the end he's hit with a massive dose of despair and suffering

Spoiler for V3C3P4-11:

Welp, as expected the meeting between Kyousuke and Biyondetta was pretty tense. I like how the two are crafty enough to use their knowledge on each other to predict the other's actions and to say the things they know will hurt the other the most. Their conversation gave us our first real look into the Fifteen Siblings Project. Meanwhile, to no surprise, Kuina wants to get revenge for Sayuri, who is one of the vessels produced by Government's Anthills. The two pairs come to blows, and we really see Kyousuke and Biyondetta take things to another level. While not as crazy visually speaking as the battles last volume, the two summoners are staying pretty mobile and fighting each other just as much as the two Materials fights, with only the barriers preventing them from directly harming the other. In the end, Biyondetta is the one to reveal her trump card (at least one of them, it wouldn't surprise me if she had something else in store due to being Kyousuke's sibling), but she rans out of time, so the battle ends.

Finally, we have what's probably the best scene so far in the volume. Not only we had the parallels during the prior conversation and fight, we have a double scene with Kyousuke and Biyondetta receiving a request for help from their vessels. Notably, Kyousuke acknowledges he's not that different from Biyondetta and that he also wants to hear that request for help. Kamachi is really reinforcing that Kyousuke's life is screwed up in general even without the White Queen being present.

Alright I finally caught up. It's pretty nice series, though no matter what I find it even less "Orthodox" than Survey, it's so thoroughly screewed in pretty much every aspect. It gives me old school cyberpunk vibes.

I really hope WQ will not end to be final girl. As far as I am concerned she is irredeemable as heroine (and I am saying that as person who thinks Hazamura x Mugino is actually good idea) and using her status as final boss is unforgivable cheatin in my book. It would be pretty nice if Kamachi went for Lu route, she and Kyo look like good match up imho.

Spoiler for V3 C4 + Epilogues + Afterword:

Short fight. Kyousuke used the knowledge he had gotten from the prior fight to predict Beyondetta's moves, have Government interfere with her plan, and finish it off by using her own Petal setup.

And for the Epilogues... Kamachi can rest easy, anyone who felt the White Queen could easily be a force of good if Kyousuke would just give in to her because of Volume 2 should have their mistake corrected by this volume. The White Queen's image of an ultimate villain is reinforced by her hair causing all this trouble without a single human noticing, or the Red Lady telling Kyousuke that not only he doesn't have a chance of beating the White Queen, he doesn't even understand why.

Kamachi is certainly going for the suffering route, making Kyousuke earn every victory.

So Kyousuke was in a mission to save a large group of vessels used by the Pandemonium, basically a summoning supercomputer that can be used by the 3 main powers. Those uses we see in the second prologue are pretty brutal, clearly military designed to skip all the clash of skills between summoners and get to the power of the higher classes immediately.

But somehow Kyousuke ended up losing his memories and waking up next to the White Queen, who has apparently been permanently summoned. Maybe through Mika? The Holy Key Women sound likely to play a part on that unnatural summon.

Beyondetta a vessel? That doesn't make much sense, vol 1 already told us that while no talent is required to be a summoner, you do need talent to be a vessel and house spirits and gods in your body. Having that talent is supposed to preclude you from being a summoner since the Material would hijack your body when you call it in. Unless we're in a classic "exception that proves the rule" situation, which would require a decent explanation.

Not sure how strict the rules are, I mean librarian-chan made a pretty good vessel even though she's a complete amateur to the whole summoning thing, but then there is the connection with her sister. I mean the 15 brothers and sisters must have played with plenty of spiritual stuff back when they were in the lab, it wouldn't surprise me if Beyondetta has the talent. Hell, it wouldn't surprise me if there's a way to 'input' said talent to force subjects to become more suitable vessel candidates. We already saw with Isabelle how artificially twisted a vessel can be. Though getting a clear explanation would be very nice indeed.

Yeah, different levels of talent have been mentioned, and we have no idea how rare the best vessels are, only that Government is trying to mass-produce them since they have too many summoners (though they are the biggest faction in term of numbers). I guess Kamachi could explain it using the 15 siblings plan, but the explanation would also need to explain how she got over the "Material hijacks a vessel's body if they try to summon anything" part. Now that I think about it, we know that a butler's uniform can work as a vessel's bondage symbol. Beyondetta's clothes might work like that too.

Spoiler for Vol 4 C1P1-3:

Kyousuke begins his descent into insanity with the White Queen's all-white breakfast. He leaves his room to try and remember something. Suffice to say, the White Queen walking through the trade show causes some commotion. I'm glade we're getting more scenes between Kyousuke and the Queen after the previous volume, especially since we're getting both Kyousuke messing with her and her trying to tempt him into giving up.

Kyousuke starts to remember and has a flashback to his first meeting with Mika and how he accepted the job. Turns out Mika looks like his teacher back on the secret garden, I wonder if that's just a coincidence. Some side-stuff: Ellie Slide, the expert in incense which was mentioned last volume, was brought up again, she's likely the new girl in the illustrations. Turns out the gozaru samurai costume guy that had been showing up in previous volumes is some kind of legendary summoner, though people suspect he's multiple people wearing the suit. Incidentally, the previous discussion about Beyondetta being a vessel is relevant. Seems like Kamachi changed his mind, as one of the summoners mentioned by Kyousuke is a former vessel that incorporates being possessed by a Material into an almost suicide tactic that is dangerous event to allies. The vessels that lose control are now apparently just "most" instead of "all".
