The manga updated. Ashen Eye returns to pester Stella, camping trip starts out normally enough, a Kelpie shows up, Lucy gets attacked, and then that thing at the end appeared.

Ashen's eye and Stella relationship is turning out to be more interesting than I expected, he certainly be seems to be treating her as more of an equal than I thought he would. It is definitely turning out to be one of the wild card aspects of the story. The fact that he allied with Cartaphilus does make us forget that Ashen eye is more chaotic than he is evil, so this relationship may turn out to be beneficial for Stella rather than the unavoidable disaster everyone is expecting.

That in itself would be interesting. Then again if he has another secret agenda and or ulterior motives again that too would be interesting. If so and the starting point is at Stella's side thus it makes one wonder where or what his "goal" is. After all Ashen Eyes is a wild card. You never know what exactly what he wants or if he is doing things based on a whim. Fortune or misfortune where will this lead? After all curses and blessings, fortune and misfortune are two sides of the same coin.

The manga updated again. Not only do we learn what happened to Lucy's family, but we get so much info and new characters and violence.

Well this arc might show/expose us further to the dark side to wizardry to us. Life, death, rituals of sacrifice, betrayals for glory or envy of prestige, legacy, and the consequences for such things. Then again we have already seen some of the grotesque acts previously that Joseph/ Cartaphilus's preformed.

That would be interesting in its own right. In this series we have yet to really see the church's "face" other than good ol' Simon. We have yet to see the other side of things. That might very well change in the upcoming chapters.

The manga updated again. Remember that Slave trader Chise was chummy with. Now guess who Lucy is related to? And the witch is back too.

Also, somebody about to die because they made Chise bleed.

It seems to be fae that are hunting down that girl. Or at least it seemed that way to me as they weren't hostile to Chise as she is a magnus vs those who are wizard/sorcerer.

It was implied that they were after the Websters and were the ones who killed Lucy and her brother's family. My guess is that they were doing it for another party considering they didn't seem the type to steal the spiders.

After months, the manga has updated to chapter 80. Likely to coincide with the release of the 16th Volume and the OAD. They're just going straight to the action this time.

Ancient Magus Bride updated to 84. Leyline lore from the perspective of the Wizards and others was interesting, but the return of the Goddess was... surprising. More so being she was a Goddess of Death, going around killing people wholesale while pregnant. I had forgotten how violent and dark this could get even when Chise is calling the shots.

Not only are we getting a second season of the anime, but Chapter 90 has been released just now. You have a minimum of three different people trying to kill the hag, including a curse of vengeance from her own son. Then the pregnant goddess shows up to get in on the fun of killing the foreign god.

We got Liam reuniting with Philomelia after she said she always hated him. We got Ashen Eyes eating cookies with Stella, pretty much sucking all the tension from their previous scenes.
