Is it me or Hayate head look very wierd and Maria face look really... different, her face was pretty cute in season 2 but this season character design look to be disappointment. Nagi on the other hand look fine.

Nagi has considerably bigger head, definitely not cute, let alone normal -__-

while Maria's Head in the trailer is kinda normal-ish

I'll have to see it in motion first but it actually looks rather ugly. I don't mind a different character design but for me the characters in Hayate must be cute looking.

Anyway... Here is some extra info (from a trustable source):

Director Kudo suggests in the interview that there are different kinds of “love”, such as romantic love and family love. He further points out that Hayate would be showing these different kinds of love – presumably to different people.

The first episode will have the title “The First Night”.

All their heads are wider than shoulder-width. That's bizarre enough to begin with.

Wait, wasn't this meant to be an all new story? So why are they adapting something from the manga?

I mean we did have this story before right? Pretty sure Hayate and Nagi did go to space before...

Maybe we are taking all this "NEW" aspect a bit too seriously.

This episde in particular will be "new", probably (they "did" sort of go to space, but not like this). It sounds more like something that happens after that whole Shinoda Onsen arc.

But... This doesn't mean we won't see material that is based on the manga. Rather... I actually have a feeling that this season will be a mix of new material and slightly accurate adaptations. Probably more the former than the latter.

The art style kinda freaks me out, actually. It's like someone left the "Big Heads" mode switch on from Goldeneye.
