Seriously if they wanted another cygames anime, they should make a Shadowverse anime (since we are already getting Rage of Bahamut/Granblue fantasy, the other two popular Cygame properties) considering how popular the TCG is on android/IOS and on PC (Steam) both in Japan and in the west.
Better enjoy Sakura Quest/Uchoten Kazoku S2 while you can because after that PA Works going to hit rock bottom on the creativity end. Quote:

I'm pretty sure that the only reason this gets an anime is because anime nowadays has been used by pachinko companies as a "bridge" to get themed pachinko for their patrons. (See Haruhi and Hidan no Aria, for example.) What's perfect about this is that the character designs for Uma Musume are, like in Kancolle, based on real-life entities. In Uma Musume's case, the girls are based on horses participating in horse racing.
Considering how strong the horse racing scene is in Japan, seeing the reception of the Japanese audience to this show should be interesting. Unfortunately, that alone is not a reason to pick this series up. EDIT: To those interested, the girl with the green hairband is based on Silence Suzuka. The identifying marks were the non-matching shoes (a reference to his black and white hind heels) and the ball-shaped accessory on her headband (which was shared with the original). Everything you need about the references can be found on Nico Nico. http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm28565654 EDIT: There are also interesting things about the character designs. While in racing attire, those wearing shorts are originally stags (males) and those wearing bloomers are mares (female).

At least we have someone like you taking some time to explain the situation a bit better, not like other people trying to be the special kids on the block liking something most people have serious doubts because why not. |

I wouldn't call the response to this "hostility" as much as it's intense doubt that this will amount to anything worthwhile. The studio chosen for this, while we're more used to seeing them do series that don't really fit this sort of demographic, is irrelevant to what's actually turning us off.
Personally, I don't see how anyone could unironically think the premise behind horses being represented by anime girls has the potential to be great? I'll let someone get away with saying it's unique. But, uh... Anyone expecting the character development and/or plot in this to be something award-winningly noteworthy is probably in for an unpleasant surprise.

For example SILVER LINK turned Ange Vierge, which not only was a pure advert for a gacha-style game but also ran into some kind of trouble at some point during production, into something enjoyable and fun. Same can be said, IMO, for JC Staff's handling of Schoolgirls Strikers - The Animation Channel. Another adaptation in the same style, Idol Jihen was, in contrast, rather boring, again, regardless of what the original game was. I'm not expecting PA Works to create a masterpiece, but something I can watch. And again, I don't see the point in the "hostility". Even if it's a front for a pachinko game (but I believe the mobile game will be more important), that's totally irrelevant as far as the anime itself is concerned, as I said. |
