You guys doing a band cover? That's really cool. But it seems you don't have anyone on vocals, so you plan on just using the vocals on the original music, right. IMO, since you guys are doing a band cover, it wouldn't be complete without someone doing the vocals. I assume that not a lot of females visit this forum, so that could be a problem. I mean, like this, one of my favorite band covers:

It's just a suggestion really. Don't bother asking me to do it.

Yeah, I wasn't sure if anyone here would want to do the vocals. Personally, I'd rather use the original vocals. I cringe when ever I hear people do bad vocal covers lol

But that's the kind of format I'll be doing for laying out the videos.

Also for anyone doing solos - feel free to do it separately if it means you can get a better take of it.

This kind of popped into my head just recently, but I realized that this site doesn't have a covers thread for K-ON!, most of them just get posted here. I see this thread as a music source and a tips/help thread. Posting covers here would be like criticism, while the other thread would be a showcase of talent, be it guitar, drums, bass, vocal or even all of the above.

Who else here thinks this is a good idea and seconds the motion?

I wouldn't mind a thread to showcase our work. Most of the time they just get posted in here and barely anyone sees them (This thread isn't too active)

I might make one tomorrow unless someone else would like to do it.

I also think that a separate thread to show off what everyone does, would be a good thing.
Maybe reposting the videos that are posted here on the new thread would be a good idea.
I would do it but i dont really know how to go about making a new thread properly :P

I'd be interested. I find the tabs and clips in this thread helpful. Please keep up the good work.

Yeah, I'll leave it to someone who knows how to make a proper thread lol

It'd be cool for us all to have our own post with a list of all our covers that we can edit when we want, and then post in the thread saying when there's a new one up or somethin'

Since this is a limited forum, you guys will have to make a request in the "request for new threads" thread.
Be sure to give good reasons so as to give yourselves a better chance of getting the music covers thread, perhaps formatted as a potential opening post.
Good luck!

Well this cover would make an excellent piece of content to get the mods to make us a thread.

I have exams now, so I'll be a bit inactive for the next month, so that means guitar will be taking a bit of a backseat (By that I mean don't expect any new covers) I'll be on the forums, and I will be able to get editing the video together once I start to get some of your parts for the cover back. I can play Houkago Tea Time all the way through though, so recording it wont be an issue.

Good news is I might well be getting my new amp afterwards, so I should have it in time for when I come to record my guitar for the cover

@ bigsmoke

Okay, I just emailed you a rough test recording, just to give you an idea of how it'll sound like and something to work with..
I will definitely re-record of course when I have the time again. The sound is quite cracked lol, I think i upped the mic too much. I'm a gradeless pianist, so not exactly good, but good enough hopefully heh. Will try the other synth parts as well, just tell me which parts you want to change or remove or anything.

Just out of curiosity, are you just doing one part of the keyboard or all 3-4 parts?

Just listened to the keyboard part you sent and it's really really great! It sounds great dude You just have to clean the timing up a little bit and sort the distortion on the actual recording and it'll sound excellent You good for recording the video right?

Thanks a lot guys for making this all work out It's going to be incredible once we get all these parts together.

Aw man, school gets busy again and I miss signups for a K-On cover band. Ah well, there are much better guitars on here that would fit better.
If any auxiliary parts are needed though (horns, extra beeps and blips, etc), I'd be more than willing to record something like that.

this channel is great because you can hear the songs but in separate parts like Mugi's part or Mio's part & even the guitars as well

Well, if things go as we're thinking then we'll have plenty more covers after this, so don't give up hope yet :P

Thanks for posting that Blossom, those will come in very handy

Anyway, I'm ordering my new amp when my exams are over in 3 weeks I've spent about two hours with it and it is absolutely fantastic. It does K-on! tones very nicely.

It's one of these for the record:

Also Trenton, how's your drum part going? I'm really excited to hear it
