(L) Katanagatari

Togame and Shichika went to Tosa(Kochi prefecture) in Ep.07. Unlike the previous episodes, I could not think of the model of the temple which appeared there. And I have no idea if the model of "Katanadaibutsu(Sword Large Buddha)" exists even after watching the anime. The only scene I can think of the actual model is the beach in the end. It is probably Katsurahama, which is a famous sightseeing spot in Kochi Prefecture.

The story itself was really good, but what was with the animation this time... A lot of it felt completely different from the previous episodes... Also, some parts where the animation was just lacking.
Also, the staff clearly played around with this episode, adding visual novel-type conversation screens and YUKKIRI SHITTEITENE's face and other random stuff.

Anyways... Ten cheers that that psychopath died. Whew...

Which also resulted in making it even more static, but eh.
At least character models are rather consistent through and through.

not so different, but simply more special, more individuality in there.... So far the best episode. The story, character developement, gradation and story script merged all together into a marvelous complex. The scenes could be all static and even then it will be an amazing and pure creation. This piece is about something else than animation, and the creators have realized it a long time before. I'll give 10/10

But that psychopath is easily one of the most favorite characters in the series.

You'll get over it. At the very least her death somewhat clean and meaningful (unlike some other deaths ... in some other novels ...), and she probably wanted to die pretty badly too. Her death is required for Shichika to understand that he is just as human as he is a sword.

It was touching. After ep 7, I thought Nanami could be considered one of the Deviant Blades herself and I wonder if the sword in ep 8 has free will, because then its story might be a variant of hers.

Who knows though, I was wrong on "No new OP" account, I might be wrong here.
But it's doubtful.

Imagine though how much pain in the butt it would be to switch all those 14 discs if you just want to listen to all OPED themes!

God this episode. It certainly delivered and turned out to be much better then what i expected.

Adored the animation change from previous episode, and glad it happened and such an important part of the story. Plus the side scrolling, visual novel-type conversation and bird's eye view arcade formula just make this episode stand out more.

I knew Togame's hair would be cut short at one point, though i didn't know it happened so i'm glad about that. The tension after that happened building upto the final part of the fight was just so good.

& that scene after the ED just had to be added. ;______;
