I dunno, remember that Patrol Labors are pretty much humanoid police cars, and said vehicles are normally kept sparkly clean so that they're presentable. It's got as much dirt and grime as you would expect from a machine that's constantly cleaned and maintained.

Mmm, not really? I mean, If you look at police cars in city areas, you'll notice that there's still that worn-out look (unless police cars are different in other countries). That picture, on the other hand, looks like a gigantic plastic toy. I dunno, it somehow reminded me of the uncanny CGI clone troopers from SW eps 2

I've been in enough police cars to know what one looks like thanks (no, not cuffed in the backseat before you ask ). And yes, they do look squeaky clean whenever I see them, and the only dirty ones I see are the ones out in the provinces, and even those look white at least. They're not Pacific Rim- level worn out at the least.

Tiresias mate, give them a break will you? These are photos of on-set props. Most likely, they will polish the look of it in the movie (whether making them look more shiny or weathering them). Also, who knows, maybe there's an in-story explanation about the squeaky-clean Ingram we see in the photos too (maybe it’s brand new and this is its first mission or something). At least let us see the trailer first before complaining about the shiny-ness of the robots. That element can be easily changed in post-production.

The Patlabors were always squeaky clean in the TV series. Alphonse III, especially, gets personally polished by the female protagonist daily. She treats it like her pet. (Alphonse I and II were a dog and cat respectively.)

I was fond of the show. I even played the SNES game.

New updates with the show, especially on the cast and prop vehicles going to be used.
