Thank You for that, but how about the online uploads?

The first season covered 4 Volumes, and part of another volume.

A huge plot hole I spotted in the season 1 anime atleast what I think: How did the players get transported to the hospital? Now I have not read any of the manga but in the anime the GM specificly said: Trying to disconnect the nervegear and the game or the nerve gear form your head would cause death but in order to transport them to the hospital, they would have to disconnect the nervegear from the computer or the computer from the power outlet, which would cause the game to shut down, which would cause the nervegear to fry your brains.

Another thing: Did they ever test EMP's for the nervegear? It was an electronical device according to every source, shouldn't an EMP shut it down?

For the first part: The anime cut down Kayaba's speech, and removed a couple details.

He said that being disconnected from a source of electricity for 10 minutes, or being cut from the system (internet) for more than 2 hours, would result in death. This gave the authorities enough time to move people to hospitals.
Not a plot hole; just something the anime skimmed over.

As for the second part, you would have to manage to get all the players in the same place, without Kayaba noticing, and using the EMP on all the helmets.
This is basically a hostage situation, where all the hostages have super-microwaves attached to their heads. You don't know how many more Kayaba would sacrifice for every person you release.

Kayaba give 30min grace period to get the players to hospital and reconnect the power source. if the nerve is not reconnected within 30min it automatically use its remaining power to fry the players brain.

if you are the guy in charge would you bet your career, your reputation and 10,000 lives on this idea? Would you give the order to use microwave to disable the nerve gear.

been discussed to death in the novel and anime 1st season thread.

There is a brief scene under Kayaba's speech in episode 1 where you see Kirito's mom & sister watch EMS people roll helmut-wearing Kirito out to an ambulance implying that there was a way to transport the players out of their homes to a more secure location.

Yup, and also, in Episode 13 just before the big fight, there was a scene when Asuna reminds Kirito that they can't last forever in the game world because their bodies are rotting away in a hospital. They mentioned in that scene there was a period of time when people were disconnected briefly, and this is when they were moved to hospitals.

So yeah, it was covered in the anime.

there is currently 15vol out with probably 1 more to finish the series.

vol 7 is Mother Rosario - not sure how the production ppl plan to fit that one in.
vol8 are short stories set in Anicard which was already cover in season 1.
vol9+ is Alicization Arc which is the end arc. my guess we will see this announce for Winter/Spring season.

About that...

Volume 14 is about the half-way point for Alicization.

*refers to web novel notes

don't think so.

1 more vol is probably too little.

at best it is 3 more vol, unless Reki is doing a complete rewrite of alicization. There isn't going to be another 6vols.

Well, considering "Alicization Chapter 8" of the web novel is as long (if not longer than) as the rest of Alicization, the end of Volume 7 is the half-way point. That said, Volume 10 was mostly original content, so it's not the exact half-way point anymore. But Kawahara could just as easily add much more content to the remining material.

Think about this very carefully. You want to set off an EMP on an electrical device right next to someone's head. Even if the EMP kills the NervGear, there's no guarantee that there won't be side effects that could harm the person. (Electrical surge right next to the brain, NervGear catches fire from the EMP, etc.)

Furthermore, wasn't a focused EMP what the NerveGear used to kill its wearers?

Speaking of NerveGears... what happened to Kirito's? I know he kept it, but was the kill function removed for his safety or something?

No, it was a focused Microwave signal that was used to destroy a (very important) part of your brain, which apparently led to internal organ failure and of course, death.

We know he kept it after the SAO incident, but we don't know what was done to it, and we don't know what he did with it after he got an Amusphere.

Negative actually! Kirito used the nerve gear to log into ALO. Remember how in the bar they talk about kirito having to get new hardware and his friend just says "it woks with nerve gear too.". And what comes to the microwave signal, frying any part of your brain would kill you extremely quick.
