I don't understand a thing.
Since when they loved each other that much? And how could Tokiwa dumped her boyfriend so mercilessly? To me, Tokiwa and Kasuga are but two unhappy persons who tortured in despair so they tried to find someone to fill their emptiness. |

and she starting becoming attracted to him when she started to expose her true self (with the reading/writing). she made herself vulnerable to only one person; its only natural for her to fall for him too and with that said, that's probably why she dumped Tokiwa so "mercilessly." she probably never really loved him and i think they're a great balance with each other. but this is a story of Kasuga and Nakamura. I'm sure she will come back into the picture and shake things up soon cant wait. this manga is one that im the most excited for |

Can't wait to see how this crashes and burns. I wonder if it will be Saeki sabotaging the relationship or Nakamura showing up again and Kasuga going crazy? I wonder if Kasuga will be able to turn Tokiwa into a nut case too.

Just saw the chapter and can't wait to see how everything will unfold when the "final boss" shows up. It'll be one happy reunion with Tokiwa at the center of the chaos. The author sure knows how to crush the hopes of hopeful readers.

So sue me. My point was getting to the general subtext of the current issue with this chapter. I'm aware of Kasuga and Tokiwa's relationship progressing smoothly, but the moment his old town was mentioned the evil flowers have begun to "bloom" unconsciously in his mind. It's like you said; he has to go back to face his demons because it's his true test to see whether he can break free of the chains that still bind him or lose the happiness he embraced for the short period of time he obtained it.
I'm still doubtful that he'll be able to fight off Nakamura because she still has a small presence of mind inside him, and at the fact that their history will be too heavy to fight off the temptation of returning to the "deviant" that she molded (or himself in someways) with her own hands.

The movie Kasuga and Tokiwa go to see is Ghost World, based upon a graphic novel by Daniel Clowes.
The story's about a pair of recent high school graduates, Enid (the green haired one) and Rebecca (the blonde) who are trying to figure out what to do with their lives. Enid finds middle America with its endless strip malls and middle class homes suffocating and yearns to, as Nakamura would say, go to the other side of the mountain, but Rebecca is leaning towards settling down for a life of conformity which makes Enid sick just to think about. This particular scene is when the girls stop to talk to an old guy they always see waiting at a bus stop that they know has been discontinued, though he insists they don't know what they're talking about.. (If you look at the bench, it actually says, Life Not In Service.) So, a very appropriate movie for Kasuga. |

Uggh...... I sure hope that never happens to Tokiwa. But, given this manga, yeah, your trepidation is not entirely unjustified. |
