I'm really disappointed that they've completely changed the cast from the original game, I just hope this isn't a beginning of a downward slope. But then again, professional seiyuu these days make miracles happen, so us original game fans might still hear familiar voices. I'm glad they kept one seiyuu for the Asamiya triplets though, that much hasn't changed.

The only name I recognize is Miki Ito, who was Android 18 and then Mineva Lao Zabi (A Kid) and now seems to play MILF types almost exclusively.

I haven't watched the preview DVD yet, but you're sure this isn't a case of psydonyms, at least in some cases? I guess we'll see soon enough...

I wouldn't know that much, to be honest. I'm not into the whole seiyuu stuff all that much, I just ran the names of the seiyuu on the site and compared them to what my Nanatsuiro★Drops ARTWORKS book had to say.

MOON PHASE reports that Nanatsuiro★Drops episode 01 has already been produced. A special screening of it is going to be held at the RONDO ROBE 2007 event on June 3rd. The event is going to host industry workers and representatives, it's going to sell limited merchandise, and apart from screening some anime works (Shakugan no Shana, Nanatsuiro★Drops, HELLSING, Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan), industry representatives will make new announcements of upcoming anime.

Honestly, your post made me chuckle a bit. No harm meant though.

Yes, Itou Noiji is kind of famous now. Her art books (with Fujitsubo Machine, her doujin circle) still aren't as expensive as AMR's for example, but they sell out super-fast. She went mainstream with the otaku crowds in Japan. She has collaborated with eroge makers (mostly Unison SHIFT works), light novelists (Suzumiya Haruhi, Shakugan no Shana light novels), and consequently in anime production, she also draws her own original manga (bee-be-beat-it!)... Yep, she's doing great.

And the thing about her name sounding like the word 'noisy'? In her latest Unison SHIFT game called ALICE♥Parade, Futari no Alice to Fushigi no Otome-tachi she made a play on her name credit and called herself 伊東雑音 or 'Itou Zatsuon', 'zatsuon' meaning 'noise' in English.

Not so sure I like the designs for Nanatsuiro though... but I will wait to see it in motion first.

Saw Episode 1 at today's Rondo Robe.

Although I wasn't familiar with the PC game, the catchy promotional trailer for the anime shown at the Comiket last winter got me interested in the show.
Upon viewing episode 1, I may have to retract the statement. The first thing I noticed watching Nanatsuiro Drops was its similarity to Kamichama Karin, with the ditzy female lead that uses a magic ring. Maybe it was due to the Studio Barcelona artwork (of Dai Mahou Touge fame), which was more or less the equivalent of Satelight. The problem is, Karin is based on a shoujo manga which airs in the evenings, whereas Nanatsuiro is an adaptation of a PC game (eroge) which will be broadcast at late nights. There were hardly any fanservicey scenes in ep. 1, which means that unless the viewer can feel empathy (or moe) towards the characters, this might get uglier than Karin.
They didn't show the opening sequence for today's screening, so I missed out on the Utatsuki Kaori (from I've) song, one of the things I was looking forward to today (speaking of I've, the Mell OP for Sky Girls sounded really good).
I suppose with the upcoming release of the PS2 port of the game, the producers really want to market this property.
I just hope the plot gets interesting enough in the future episodes.

BTW, the seiyuus for the anime main characters are the same as the PC game/PS2 port.

Yes, the feel of the story really does resemble a plot of a shoujo manga, the authors attested to that as well. The moe for me came from the main character, and pretty much everybody else helping out Sumomo to become a stronger person. In the beginning of the game, she looks like one of the most fragile things ever to have existed, so maybe her mental development over the whole may be more important for the moe factor than first impressions. But then again, I haven't seen the anime... yet.

BTW, great news about the seiyuu cast. I'm glad.
