TOO HEAVY MAN

While they did accomplish what they set out to do originally - get the school over another year - unfortunately things aren't going as well elsewhere, including dropping out of the Love Live rankings. And unfortunately, Kotori's situation just sent Honoka into a slump that goes so far as her quitting the entire idol business.

And then the episode ended with Honoka receiving an Umi BRIGHT SLAP Damn you cliffhanger!

This episode truly moved me a lot. It picked up where the latest episode left off where Honoka falls sick in front of her teammates during their live concert, which resulted in a lot of drama and conflict (such as the falling Love Live! ranking for µ's), even Kotori call it quits. I really feel bad for them, and the way the director is seeing her daughter doesn't take in a very good way, and the ending has the determined Umi not letting Honoka disbanding herself from µ's by slapping her. Seems like the final episode will resolve everything.

I found the image on google by chance. Based of the description of the image, it seems like it's supposedly a spoiler for somewhere later on in the manga, I'm guessing the ones you read were from the tankoubon.

That was depressing... µ's has been taken off the rankings due to urge of chairwoman and group consensus. Even with the small happy break in the middle where the school is not being closed down anymore.... Didn't see Honoka going to quit coming nor the fact Umi slapping and telling Honoka that she's the worst.

I just read her text message that she typed... Honoka's really blaming herself pretty hard.

Rough translation
The first message was
"私、全然気付いてなかった。。。"
"I didn't notice at all..."

The second message
"私が夢中過きて
みんなの気持ちとか
全然見えなくて
だから

ことりちゃん　ごめんね"

I sure hope there's a second season. There's just so much that can be done! And... Honoka!!! I really hope she gets her energy back... but wow... all that completely impacts... definitely don't want to be in her shoes. Anyway, Umi will save the day and revive Honoka! Don't give up Honoka!!

- I'm not entirely certain since I'm only getting bits and parts of what they say but I think Love Live didn't happen yet. (but it's getting very close), Kotori is off to study abroad (it was her choice, but her mother was really trying to goad her into it), the school isn't going to be closed.

While saving the school was indeed their goal, for the Muse girls, and especially Honoka, it became something more.

I don't see how they are going to tie up the loose ends in one episode. There's still a lot of room for expansion, especially the long-awaited battle with A-Rise. Maybe they're leaving it all for a season 2.
