Hey, I get my Higurashi stuff legit, I have the receipts to prove it.

Minagoroshi (皆殺し) literally means "killing everyone", it's probably best translated as "massacre".

Matsuribayashi (祭囃し, or 祭囃子) refers to the style of Japanese folk music played during traditional festivals. Literally, they're "musics that accompanies festivals".

I'm wondering about that too... I'm all for the Golden Pair (sorry, Mion). I like Mion better (and Shion even more so), but Rena and Kei-chan to me seems like the best match. Personally, I want Rena-chin to be happy as Tsumihoroboshi Hen's stuff was pretty depressing.

Incidentally, that's probably one of the last places you can buy Matsuribayashi-hen online. Everywhere else pretty much has their preorders maxed out. ^^;

Technically, the puzzle was already completed for us in Minagoroshi. This chapter is more like a finale where we finally learn the whys and hows behind the puzzle pieces.

And what's with the "brilliant!" already? Aren't you just starting?

...the beginning was BRILLIANT, to steal kj's words. Absolutely top notch brilliant. I had suspected something of the sort to begin the last chapter, but the actual truth far exceeded what I had imagined, and made Minagoroshi much more cooler as well. Wow.

On the other hand, I can see the "puzzle" is going to give me nightmares (￣﹏￣) Sorry, Oyashiro-sama, but I'm going to give up for the time being and go to sleep...

Only read the intro so far, but I gotta say some things needed too much of a suspension of disbelief.

The phone number she remembers at the last second was just.... 都合よすぎる

But not to sound too grumpy, the intro fleshed out You-Know-who into a much more believable villain.
I also love how he had the tact of censoring all relevant part of the tortures. Goes to show that ero/gore scenes are only a gimmick.

And the new tracks rocked. Especially that faster remix of that song-which-name-i-cant-remember.

Besides that, the prologue was excellent. With a history like that, it's no wonder that the "fate" was unbreakable up to this point.

But Hanyuu was totally cool in the end there. ^^

Yes, Hanyuu shows more strength here than she did previously, and she's fully capable of being a part of the bukatsu.

Finished connecting all the pieces together, now onward to the main story of Matsuribayashi-hen.
