No real surprise there. With how popular the LNs are and how well the anime did, it was only a matter of time.

Sugoi!

I guess Season 2 will probably conclude the whole story...?
They can now focus on the main story without to much fanservice.

The announcement was right in time for an possible October airing - I hope. The OVA comes at the end of September and the second season right after this would be optimal.

EDIT: A photo from the event of the announcement.

This getting a second season is no surprise and I'm really happy about this. I look forward to the release date.

Well, regarding the first point, I don't think you should start rumours at this point. There is plenty of material to cover in another one-cour season, and no clear sign that the novels are ending.

For the second point... I always say that people shouldn't expect things to change that drastically in a sequel, because it got a sequel in the first place because the first season was successful. I think it's safe to expect the same general balance of elements as the first season. If anything, sequels tend to ramp up the service a bit out of a desire to out-do the original, but we'll see...

Personally, I'm almost hoping it won't be this Fall, given that Fall is already rather crowded, but I'll be sure to watch either way.

Wouldn't surprise me if this were the case at all. Perhaps a "version 1.8" sort of idea like they did with Oreimo might make sense (to flesh out some routes and add more, plus after-stories).

Clearly, we humans evolved sharp teeth to be able to enjoy and taste meat.

Wait, what does that have to do with anything? Perhaps this

AIC also makes OreImo season 2. And now Haganai 2... which comes first / is more important do you think? Which novel is more popular?

i doubt this is a matter of popularity, its more of who shceduled first, wich is likelely oreimo, and still there is the sligth chance theres a change in the animation studio.

im hoping they decide to animate the stories in shobon.

Plus, Oreimo was a lot longer ago, so it makes sense they'd go with that than the series that ended more recently.

I was one of the skeptics who thought the chance of Haganai's getting a second season was slim. I hereby eat my words. With that said, I want my next season to be a non-stop orgy among Kodaka+Sena+Yozora+Rika from day 1. Kobato and Maria can watch for educational purpose and providing it's not nap-time.

I was of the opinion that the Last episode of the First Season would have made way more sense as the first episode of the Second Season.

Spoiler for Where Season 1 Ended in the LN. No Future Spoilers for Season 2 Inside:

Anyway, Hagani deserves a Second Season. It's a very interesting and brilliantly written story. Is it ok to speculate how many volumes might be covered, without going into detail?

Well, do you really see a good ending point for a second season in between the now released novels?

Spoiler:
