I have a question about Matsuribayashi-hen.

When
Spoiler for Matsuribayashi-hen:
some words appear with the letters replaced by 'X's.

For example 'But why is she XXXXX?' or something like this.

Is this censorship, done by MangaGamer, or was it also like this in the original japanese version?

I think it was in the original as well, But the Manga showed what happened to one girl.... She was striped naked , her body was covored with chicken food and the chickens were eating her alive, One ...... Destoyed the eye of the girl, I felt sorry for her

Yes, I already read something about the manga version of that scene. Although Matsuribayashi-hen seems to be the "happy ending chapter", it still contains a lot of cruelty, some of it seem a bit exaggerated to me, for example

Spoiler for Matsuribayashi:

And I wonder if you can, in the end, still call it a real happy ending because no-one will bring the people back who died earlier because of the "curse" and they didn't deserve to die as well as Rika and her friends.

the manga version says Rika's mother (who I feel almost more sorry for than anyone else in the whole story) is not only dissected alive but also without anesthesia.

Blame Takano XD, Plus I have not read Matsuribayashi yet , I did not knew Rikas Mother was dissected alive. What was the purpose of this? I thought Takano just killed the parents because they were getting in the way of her research on Rikas body

Another question about Rika's mother. In Minagoroshi Rika says:

"She took my father's death the wrong way and made a very big deal out of it."
(not literally, quoted from my memory)

I don't really understand this. Particularly because the next sentence is "She got what she deserved" so Rika seems to think her mother did very wrong by "taking her father's death the wrong way and making a very big deal out of it".

I can't believe Rena is only fourth ... She turned out to be my favourite character after all, even if Mion took the lead for some time.

The bigger question is, "Why is 07th Expansion doing this now?"

I think it would be nice to think that something is still going on about Higurashi. Who knows.

Anyway, I keep asking myself if the characters below 10 really got any votes, because it seems a bit strange that Okonogi is in a higher position than Akasaka ...

Someone probably spared some votes for them, I guess. You can vote once every hour and it doesn't have to be the same character.

It looks like 07th Expansion is doing popularity contests for all of their series. The other ones aren't open yet, but I'm guessing they're probably going in order of their release? (Higurashi, the Umineko, Higanbana, RGD...)

I'd like to ask the people who speak Japanese something. In the SN a few characters (Rika and, I think, also Rena) refer to Oyashiro-sama as a female person by saying 'she'. Is this specification of gender also expressed in the original Japanese version?

These scenes (Keiichi being accused by Rena about the shooting incident, confessing to the others and remembering Onikakushi) belong to my favourite scenes in Higurashi. I'm jealous of these PS2/Nintendo people who understand Japanese. I wish there would be a PC and/or English-friendly version.

Forever waiting for a PS2 patch that adds voices...

Some scenes could be enjoyed even more with them.

Na ha ha, If I'm free , I will make the voice patches on higurashi but I'm not promising anything. XD I have the expirience since I was the voicer in Umi tweak , I voiced Episode 2 and the whole chiru, Plus I'm crazy enough .XD Past month I was playing around with Saikoroshi voices and added them to the game (Not fully, Only like 20%).
Oh and , I'm actually reading the PS2 version on a emulator along with the PC game. No lag at all .I used PC contoller for the Emulator configuration and I press the controllers button and the enter at the same time, so it looks like the PC game is voiced.I'm still not at the level to read Japanese, Haha
