Well, it's that time again: Gundam Time. RRW is still on break so I'm filling in until their return, please excuse the mess in the meantime.

This episode is entitled: "The Gravity of Wishes"

---

p.s. Has anyone else get a Shino/Uno vibe from the series (Uno's the little blonde boy, right?)? IDK, their relationship feels a little too special for something to not be going on...

Great episode, tons of action and that was almost a close call for Mika.

Chocolate man and his piloting skills are also quite impressive. Carta's still a weird character imo though as a commander and we even find out a little bit about her past.

What an excellent and gripping episode. There’s still some hiccups but It’s still well done. The action is great. It’s been a long time since I see Gundam MC & maskman work together like this beautifully (maybe since Zeta or Turn-A?). Shino almost got killed by Ein, but Ein ended up getting wrecked by Mika for protecting Gaelio (again). Don’t know if he’ll survive the hit this time as it looks pretty fatal. I certainly hope his character didn’t end this abruptly. There’s so much potential in him than just becoming a Jerid knock-off.

Notes:
  • I guess I have to correct myself regarding Carta Issue’s character. She doesn’t seem to be as smart as Mina Shahaku and she’s less intense than Cima. Turns out, her character is more like a female Mashymre Cello. Like Mashymre, she’s proud, hammy, comical, and not extremely competent as a leader. And love (or should I say one-sided crush) plays a big part in her motivation. And no, she’s still not like Chara Soon to me, simply because she’s not that dumb (so far).
  • That whole Carta Issue’s childhood flashback with little Gaelio & McG felt straight outta rom-com (or shoud I say Okada-ish?) to the point where it almost didn’t feel like a Gundam, but then I remember the SoL scenes in Gundam 0080 and think it wasn’t so bad for such a brief scene.
  • This episode has a new ED song that I think is better than the ED2 that we usually have. Kudos for whoever picking this song to end the episode.
  • Oh, and Mikazuki finally got to see the "real" mikazuki (aka. crescent moon).

@Obelisk ze Tormentor : OK now that you mention it, Carta's DEFINITELY a Mashymre Cello indeed.

That's one heck of a way to do re-entry, Mikazuki. Nowhere else in the Gundam franchise do we see an MS re-entry by using the MS he just defeated as a shield.

The amount of action and suspense in this episode pretty much makes up for all the buildup in the previous episodes IMO.

What surprises me the most is how Eugene could control TWO ENTIRE SHIPS with Alaya-Vijnana. Of course, he only used it for maneuvering but goddamn... TWO SHIPS.

It feels like Tekkadan always uses extreme strategies in battle, not that i hate it. Carta is well not what i thought she was, Chocomask shows off his skills. They finally reached Earth. Like how they end the episode with a crescent moon.

Now that was a great episode

Starts off with the Kudelia/Mika handshake from the first episode

Gets some flashbacks for Gaelio/McGillis/Carta and Mika/Orga

Ship and MS battle capping off with a atmospheric entry and arriving on Earth

This is the Gundam I love, the episode speaks for itself

And Gaelio you are one LUCKY bastard getting a subordinate that great

9.5/10

Agreed on Eins, at the VERY LEAST, his death should have some profound affect on Gaelio if it does come down to him dying

The most recent protag/antag pair up was Asem/Zeheart teaming up against SID

Alaya-Vijana gives you wings, screw RedBull........

i could have sworn what happened to Eins was somehow symbolic, he abandoned his fight with the Graze Kai, his late sempai's stolen former Suit to rescue Gaelio & got fatally hit in the process, lets wait for the next episode to see if he manages to survive & probably became Robocop or something.

Naze giving his girls a hug as they go protect their little brother. Naze is in for hot action once they come back.

As Atra fell in love with Kudelia's dream Kudelia in turn fell in love more with Mika. Now they consider each other equals.

Speaking of love Carta Issue certainly has issues. Placed in the Eaith Orbital Defense Joint Fleet leadership as a figurehead where she can do the least damage. She has a thing for blondes but as a kid she had a crush on McGillis. Frustrated he turned out to be a lolicon.

Ein is still stupid not knowing what happened but doesn't really care of morality. Again he saves Gaelio. Whether he survives or not is a question. The problem with Gaelio is that he is too proud much like Carta. This leads to subordinates getting killed because of that pride.

If that is so for Gjallarhorn's noble families no wonder the Solar system is oppressed. McGillis seeks to change that.

Great episode in so many aspects. Aside from obvious thing like action, Mikazuki reentry and Kamina level coolness I also really like some small details like Carto crew being made almost completely out of blond bishies or their "what a tsundere again" smirk. Well, Carto herself seems somehow competent, though not enough to be threat for Orga and his stratagems.

From some reaoson I felt bad for Eins, though I never cared for him before.

Lol Mika still Bros before Hoes...when the chips are down who gives Mika the motivation in a near death situation not Kudelia, not Atra, its still Orga. So now people can stop saying Kudelia is actually driving a wedge. We get some nice character development flashbacks this episode...

Also come on gotta wonder is anyone keeping track of Choco-mask here...sure he says he is on vacation but no one in Gjallahorn has noticed he aint where he says he is.

I dont think Carta or Gaelio are especially dumb. Galeio was just arrogant and didnt expect mika to have a counter built. I mean he did figure out Mika isnt great against highspeed and countered so Mika just countered again. So hopefully this Eins affair will make him take it seriously and be less arrogant. Carta had no idea what to expect and simply got outstrategized by Orga which is standard Orga does that to everyone. She figured it out decently enough.

Biscuit focus it looks like next week.

You meant the blond mechanic boy who has a crush on Shino? That's Yamagi Gilmerton, not Takaki Uno. Takaki is the one who almost got killed by the Brewers when he accompanied Takahiro. And yes, the BL-vibe from Yamagi looks real since episode 08 or so. Let's just see where it will go (if Okada will addressed it at all).

Now that's an episode...
hope Ein is gone for good... though there's some potential left for him, that line he deliver to Galeo is good enough to not make him more of an eye sore...
Is Gali Gali even aware of Choco man's actions?
also
somehow Galeo resembles Garma and if he is lucky enough he will meet a similar fate but with a different twist...
and Carta might have a queer personality like Mashymre but the way her hair is drawn minus the pointed one with a different color at the end, resembles Haman's hair and they even taken a liking to a blond guy that currently wears that is into little girls

This was a great episode.
Eugene, you weren't just cool, YOU WERE BOSS!!!
I did not feel sorry for Ein (and honestly, even Crank with understanding the situation). I remember that duel, and he only provided a stipulation for himself and not Tekkadan.

I loved Tekkadan's tactics and the Isarabi can move.

Carta is kinda fox-like

so is Carta's thing (or fetish ) for blonde guys as shown with her personal squadron being only consists of them has to do with McGillis triggering it back when they were kids?

Dang, Chocolate's mobile suit with the twin blades is pretty sick. And what was just a complete insult to injury and kind of brutal was Mika using the Mobile Suit he just destroyed as a shield to re-enter Earths orbit. Eugene controlling both ships and Lafter and Azee passing around that stick was pretty awesome, too.

Well Mika does have affinity for brutality when it comes to his enemies. Quite surprised to see chocoman to actually come out in his mobile suit to help out. I would have expected Carta's mobile suit to be revealed first before Chocoman when he inevitably turn against the Tekkadan once he is done with them.

Eugene definitely got the spotlight again this episode. Seems like he's the boss when the situation calls for some bad ass GAR-ness. Quite surprised to find out that their implant is used as well for the ships' helmsman. That explains why the helmsman never had any control panel or flight stick on his chair.

They are train to fight that way .

And Eins....
He live most of his life under racism, Gaelio was second person who treat him as equal human.
so he really appreciate commander like him and probably see his old commander in Gaelio.

Probably that why Eins don't want to see his commander die again without him able to do anything.(Trauma)

LOL typical Okada, can't help but tie more characters as childhood friends. Can't say I mind, since that pretty much allows me to easier swallow chocoman/imouto's engagement as they've known each other since the latter's birth.

Interestingly enough, I find Gaelio/Carta's dynamic to be the more amusing of the two. Like damn it's so obvious of Carta's obsession with Chocoman, especially when all her crew are blondies, but I really like the thought of her slowly realizing the good points of Gaelio if they work more with each other in the future. XD
