That was another pretty nice episode. They tackled quite a few things in here. The episode felt really packed to me as if they managed to cover way more than should have been possible.
Some good scenes in terms of tracking down that fragment from the sky, to the ocean, back to the sky and even space. They just went everywhere this time. The interactions with Minato 2 (got to call this guy something) were kind of fun. I'm curious what this guy is after and what he is trying to use the fragments for. Clearly this guy has his own motivations and reasons for fighting these girls over the fragments. Plus kind of hilarious that Subaru wins with....that attack Then of course you have the nice chats between Subaru and Minato 1. Again giving her fair advice and helping to push her in the right direction. I'm just as curious about that guy as well and what his situation is. Also curious when Subaru is going to notice that these two look exactly the same .

This show is certainly different, that's for sure. Episode 3 was nicely imaginative, and went places pretty different from where I've seen other magical girl shows go. The sci-fi elements in this show are also pretty heavy-duty. I'm not sure where the show is going with all of this, but it is a fun ride anyway. It's often a visual treat for the eyes, and the Subaru/Aoi dynamic continues to be cute.

Subaru sure is Impreza this episode. I should die for that.
I really like the talk between Subaru and Minato in the magical glass house, and even more the conversation between herself and her parents. It's really driving home the point that this show is a traditional Mahou Shoujo show. Lastly, the battle in the swimsuits, that got silly real fast but you know what, it was great fun. Especially highlighting the stars in both the ocean and space.

anyone else notice that two girls had their bust size insulted here, lol at Subaru comparing Itsuki's to Aoi's when she bumped onto her during the practice then Hikaru's when she failed to catch the club president alien along with the engine fragment & again he with the fragment bumped onto Itsuki's that managed catch them unintentionally?
also was expecting notMinato the dark magical boy to have an ecchi anime protagonist reaction when Subaru's swimsuit clad butt bumping against his face

To think Subaru compares them, in this kind of anime genre.
That humiliation, wait until Subaru finds out his true identity after maybe giving more insults to him in future episodes. Minato being serious did not cover his mistakes, it is unfortunate humiliation for him. |

Yeah, if this show can keep making episodes like this one, then I think it'll go down well. That was a good episode, and their whole journey to the moon looked superb. Musically nice, too, and a much deeper story than just 'konpeito of the week'.
Hikaru's family might seem distant from the glimpses we saw and the whiteboard, but clearly her mother and father are still loving parents. |

Sometimes I do feel some sympathy for Minato . He and Subaru have some weird connection to be sure that even draws them together when they are going after fragments . I do wonder when the story will get to what is going on with the 2 versions of him that we've seen and what his goals are with those fragments.
The episode itself was really nice though. I really enjoyed the journey to the moon and giving Hikaru a lot of focus. It seems like quite the nice family, just busy. I think the parents saw her drifting away and were afraid themselves to try and pull her back in. Although at the core of it no one had reason to be upset. Hikaru actually helped her father out and they clearly care about her quite a bit, they just needed something to push them. As always I like the weekly chats between Minato and Subaru. While he is in some kind of supernatural room, he believes her about going to the moon without a shred of doubt.

Ep 04
This series continues to surprise me. This ep was almost...dream-like in a way, I guess, and I thought was well done. The overall impression almost reminded me a teensy bit of tasting a type of food one thinks one has never tried but on tasting one gets a dim recollection of something similar from a long time ago. Will the other members of the group get similar treatment? I certainly hope so.

I guess nothing really surprises the people in this series.
Like opening your classroom door to only step into another dimension with a greenhouse, butterflies, and a hot bishie...no, that's all normal and Subaru talks to him like it's an everyday thing (...well, it appears to now be for her). And...your kid flies to the moon...nothing out of the ordinary there...we'll just play her a piano song and ask her to come to the concert tomorrow. ...but it was fun to watch.
