Even if, say, it doesn't automatically shut down, it would've been done manually before Aila even had a chance to go psycho on the Fenice.
And, even if, say, they were too busy munching donuts to press the "off" button, you'd think they would've before some other kid can randomly step in and use the field.
These two things really irked me and kind of took away from the enjoyment this episode. It was a bit too ham-fisted a way to create drama between Aila and Reiji for my taste, but it is what it is.
Oh well.

edit: I guess ratings are a possible explanation. Still doesn't make sense though, since it normall just shuts down.
Btw, it's funny how all chairmen in this show are jerks

Purposely damaging a competitor's suit after you had already lost is very bad sportsmanship, it works in war but not in a sport like Gunpla. Gracefully bow out and return next year is the way to go.

Seeing that Qubeley in berserk mode was just fantastic and something I wished for last week. Easily one of the best episode thus far. I had an orgasm when it continued destroying Fenice in a mad frenzy and proceeded to instagib Beginning.

I only wished in the ending Aila can be released from Team Nemesis and be a princess in Reiji's land. That ice queen deserves nothing less.

It's sad though, if only she knew how Reiji enjoys a good challenge and won't feel insulted/disappointed if he lose to a superior opponent. She could go on to win with their support.

Perfect awesome episode. Aila vs Fellini was really epic. Good job hanging in there Fellini, but... god at the end Wing Gundam Fenice was no match towards Qubeley Papillon...

The self destruction could have been actually cool to look at :/

But if you think about it, Kampfer Amazing was pretty damaged heavily in Episode 18, so it is understandable, and Allan might have thought that not even Kampfer Amazing is enough to win since it did get nearly get defeated by GM Sniper K9.

You're reading too much into it. She just became unconscious from the full power Embody system, and operating on biological auto-pilot, i.e. an externally induced daze.

And now she has the baggage of being the douchebag who destroyed someone's precious Gunpla when they're already defeated. Even if she didn't do it intentionally. Ouch.

Next week is going to be the make or break in this rollercoasting ship isn't it?!

Good thing that the Fellini x Kirara ship has been reinforced with concrete and rebar this episode.

kampfer amazing ability is not amazing... compared to overpowered SBS who have like 322911 ability, kampfer is like nothing special, even trash... just BLACK. the plus point is in the pilot. so meijin needs EXIA, ORE WA GANDAMU!

or exia will become third party who interrupt tournament like the usual tournament arc in any shounen manga/anime...
