Toradora! - PSP Game Discussion Thread

Well, here's my little info gathering for the Toradora PSP game.

http://www.psphyper.com/psp/bandai-t...venture-games/

http://b.bngi-channel.jp/toradora/

It looks like a sim of sorts, and as mentioned in the psphyper article, you might get deja vu from the game, as the guys who're working on this also did a game for Suzumiya Haruhi.

I hope it's more of a visual novel. It will be close to impossible to create something like a dating sim for Toradora!.

Theres actually a small trailer of sorts over here.

Actually, that kind of a dating sim WILL happen.

Because one of the description I read in the game's announcement website stated that it will incorporate dating-sim features, in which means - rejoice, shippers. You can now make your favorite pairing a reality in the game.

A dating sim with 3 girls? Unless they decide to include the side characters, it would lack a lot of replayability. Anyway, Toradora turned into a sim date is seriously disgusting, in my opinion.

Only if Ryuuji can go after Sumire as well..... o.0

Seriously.... I suppose they *could* turn it into a date-sim... but a more interesting game might be rather more just a "choose your adventure" visual novel. You're Ryuuji and all these people around you have problems to solve or issues. Will you make things better or worse (never mind whether you might or might not achieve a girlfriend in the percolating mess).

A simple pyramid choice set of routes would be lousy.... it'd almost have to be a "things continue to happen off-stage if you don't return to attend on them" type of turn-sequenced game.

As much as how I'm really looking forward to this... Well, I don't want to think too much about it. I'll just wait and see how it's done.

Then after it's done only can I evaluate it.

The Haruhi PSP game was fantastic, if only because, thanks to the supernatural elements present in Haruhi, they were able to create fantastically awesome storyline elements and endings.

I don't see the same thing here...

Anyone? I might trace 'em back and put 'em here, but nah I'm just too lazy to.

Pictures are pretty rare, these are just about the only interesting ones I could scoop up. Must say, like the 3D characters.

Will an english translation for the game be made available by the company creating it, home brewed by fans or not be possible at all?

Home brewed patches are possible but even more popular series like Haruhi have trouble getting enough interest to support such a project.

There is actually a full patch of the Chinese Haruhi game for PSP...well as an fan of visual novels, I really like this type of games myself, story and character development are pretty much why I would play the game.

So I am really look forward to this.

I read a bit of the kanji on there it seems like you can move around the maps but it's still a visual novels type, they've got the same program with Taiga's head that follows your mouse around. Same as the Haruhi one if you know what I am talking about. Under the TORA system tag

Spoiler for story:
