I'm kind of stunned that Sheryl beat Misa...but I guess the Macross Ace readers are Frontier fans first, and everything else second...

I can understand why Roy is first. He is awesome. Good to see Isamu in the top 5, though I would have put him above Alto.

Can't believe the VF25 beat out the YF-19 and the VF-1S.

Obviously I'm happy with Sheryl's placement, though I think Misa should have been infront of Ranka(and Minmay/Minmei) and been in the #2 spot..

Also Ranka above Misa, I like Ranka but no, in no way is better than Misa.

Current characters always have an advantage over the older ones, I mean c'mon Luca is #10? I bet if this poll was done in 5 years the only Frontier character in top 5 would be Sheryl... prob still #1 unless the female leads of the next Macross project are as Sheryltastic as her.

Agreed. Misa was a Gem among Gems. One of the best female characters in anime of the 80's. It's kind of insulting that Ranka beats her frankly, when she had far more depth to her.

I've always been a Minmay fan over Misa, though i totally understand her fanbase and why she's loved so much, and shall agree regarding Ranka beating her in the poll. I guess it doesn't help that the Frontier franchise it's a lot more recent and in peoples minds, though that shouldn't mean anything when this is a overall Macross franchise poll. Such a shame.

In my opinion, both Minmei and Misa should beat Ranka out of the water in terms of character depth, growth, etc. I didn't care for Minmei until the movie to be honest, but found myself really liking her there.

Without a doubt. I like Ranka, but no way does she deserve to be that high up in the charts. Let's see the charts again in about 5 years, because i can't see her being that high.

She will last in terms of Macross characters. She's easily one of the best characters period in the Macross Universe. I've seen them all, and very few characters can touch her.
