At roughly the halfway point, we have 1.5 times the accepted USA votes from this match than in the previous match.

Well, at the end of the day, the top characters have been pulling the same voters, so it's not like it'd be hard for one to beat another, just whether people would be willing to change (ie. Kuroneko vs Yuki) even without more voters. The more the merrier though.

We *might* see Yukine's record broken this round. Maybe. Who knows.

Highest VF, I think.

Well, I'm basing this off posted votes count, so it could be wildly off, but there's a chance.

I was merely commenting on how even though it wasn't our intention, the addition of the Facebook widget will make the "China dominates votes" argument invalid for the rest of ISML 2011 and maybe after as well.

Spoiler for not to be taken seriously:
In all seriousness, that's actually pretty interesting. Is Facebook not as big in China or is it that ISML is just more common knowledge already over there? I mean, between people who watch anime, of course. Or rather, is it that you're not taking a higher influx of Chinese people into account in that claim?

EDIT: Now that I think about it, wouldn't a higher influx of people from Facebook be bad for Kanade? Is Angel Beats! still new enough that casual anime watchers may have not watched it?

Facebook is walled in China. Most people don't bother wallbreaking for it.

Haven't seen enough of this, so Elucia wins by default. Kanae Ito (Ohana, Sena, Elucia) woo!

ARENA 09: Kawashima Minami [Minato Tomoka]
Wut... whatever. Star basketball player voiced by Kana is the only damned thing I remember about this.

I remember Facebook was at least blocked in China some time ago, not sure if it's the case anymore. However, we've found quite a few organized Chinese communities for ISML, but not really for America (MAL doesn't care much about ISML, and we only have 1 thread on AS with maybe 20 people posting in it). Maybe Facebook will even up the score; well, it seems it has.

@ppaaccoojrf: If you're using previous data we collected this year, then the huge influx of Western voters should favor Kanade since China is pro-China. However, like you said, the ramifications of the Facebook community may very well favor Shana, which would be interesting since it would overturn support region-wise. This means that if Shana should win, it would be because of converts in previous pro-Kanade regions and NOT an influx of votes in pro-Shana regions.

I was in Beijing this summer, and yes, Facebook is still blocked there. Also, I like your avatar

As someone who had lived in China for the past two months, I can confirm that FB is still blocked. Apparently there are a couple of Chinese voters complaining that the FB thingy outright crashes their browser back around when the server move happened, but I don't know if it's still the case with them.

@weaponX: Thanks. I love it too. ^^

@RegalStar: Hm, certainly the amount of votes from China hasn't decreased this match, but if you know someone who has trouble accessing the site because of the FB widget, then you should direct them to us. For example, we've received complaints that on some phones, the main page won't load, but that's not China-specific.

Elsie vs Haqua was tough, but I had to go with Elsie because of her love for Fire Engines. Oh and I just had to anti-vote Kanade.

I see, I didn't know. I'm guessing this is only for mainland China though, right? Because I'm fairly certain I've known of some friends interacting (trading) with "Chinese people" for Facebook games. Then again, they could have been Japanese people (or even other Asians) and they didn't tell the difference.

Also, while I'd love having a more interesting competition (i.e. Kanade losing even though I like her); I think that adding more variables in mid-tournament isn't recommendable, especially on the finals stages. I know it wasn't intentional, but it may have been better to wait for next year to implement it.

And.. >that feel when somebody changes their avatar and you don't recognize them
..which reminds me, I asked before if there'd be a place to get all the gifs from this round. Will there be?
