There is no need for Freya dying on screen. Maybe movie will be sequel taking place just few eyers later with Hayate as fresh widower.

Why?
Sheryl goes into a coma, Alto gets warped out into space alone, Sara and wassisface from zero disappears into legends.

They've been narratively milking Freyja's lifespan sob story all season long so they may as well deliver.

Besides, putting Hayate at 30ish would bump everyone's ages up to like 30+, with even more for Arad and co. They can't sell 30yr old human idols. Even Kaname at 22 thought she was near the end of her prime.

Well, guess we'll see how many new scenes there are and how much they can improve the story. Frontier had two movies to cover a whole series, but then Delta's story was really only enough for one season anyway. A more detailed ending at least would be much appreciated.

I do wonder how much they can salvage. Short of making a completely new story from scratch, the only way to use existing footage is to just remove the Windermere war entirely. Turn it into a film about SoL of space idols.
