That's just a silly technicism xD! Tohma did bested Nanoha and left her ready for the coupe d' grace, the only thing bettween Nanoha and a bed alongside Signum was Subaru and her miraculous Dynamic Entry xD!

Nanoha may not have tasted Tohma's sharp blade but she lost that fight as he has destroyed all of her win conditions.

EDIT: Page claimed for dangerously rash Signum.

She spared Quinn because Thoma asked her nicely. Why wouldn't she listen to Curren ordering her not to kill anyone?
Signum forcing her to or else she'll get killed? Or just getting angry when she can't walk all over her again.

And considering she showed up in the first place to look good to Touma, I doubt she'd have killed Quinn anyway.

In that case it would be entirely justifiable.

It also could happen that Cypha gets a bit too excited with the challenge and in her fun starts going lethal like the last time. After all she seems to be the kind who enjoy playing with her victims a little.

And Curren's orders don't necessarily have to matter as much to one member as they might to another.

Hayate is a popular commander so Curren spared her to avoid severe backlash towards the Hukebein but Signum is just one of Hayate's minions so killing her won't be as damaging to them xDU

Cypha knows that Signum can survive one of her deadly attack... No need to hold back that much.

Still, I don`t think Cypha really wants to stick around with the Grandels out of the way and the rest of S6 coming after her... Especially if she can`t kill them.
She could always used Signum as a hostage ! I`m kidding, Aki !

Maybe not, but there's been nothing to suggest there's any kind of dissent within the Huckebein family. We've seen that the family is important to each of its members so there's no reason to believe they'd do something harmful to the family.

It's still unlikely as Signum is too stubborn to allow herself to be used like that. Cypha can only defeat Signum by completely and utterly disable her like she did the last time because otherwise Signum will keep fighting and being a pain in her ass xDU

Plus, i don't think would want to be such a hindrance for her comrades, sobordinates and master. I'm sure she would prefer to die than to be used to harm Hayate.

Why's she fighting Signum, then?

Eh. I doubt Touma is the lynchpin of Curren's plans or anything - she barely knows what the guy looks like.

Actually that's a good question. Signum have the excuse of doing her duty of capturing a criminal as also being personally asked by Tohma to talk with Cypha.

Cypha, on the other hand, was in the middle of leaving the place to pursue her main targets who are the Grendels and as far as she knows Signum is just a wymp she trashed a couple of months ago so escaping from her shouldn't be too difficult from her viewpoint yet she decided to stay, badmotuhs Signum and accept to fight with her despite lacking any reasonable motive to do so and even having in the middle of a more important mission.

But Curren do know how he looks like. Remeber Ch. 20 where she contacted Tohma via the book of the Silver Cross. Plus, Curren is no slouch, she more likely already revised footage of the Esquad Huckebein to watch him and acquired info from him from the other Huckebein who had previous contact with him.

Suddenly imagining Curren succeeding Putin and taking over Russia... Klingon-style.

Not like that is a BIG problem for "Cypha, Huckebein's No. 1 Swordswoman, founder member and ACE". Specially when she have more important things to do xDU

Yeah, after she more or less challenged her to a fight.

Does anyone else find it kind of bad that they didn't even feel the need to let up on the comedy for this? I mean, they didn't do it when Touma was possessed, so clearly there can be completely serious moments, but I guess this doesn't count.

Well I didn't really feel bad about all the other times comedy was mixed into serious situations in this franchise, so... no. Not really no. "Takamachi NANTOKA!" still remains one of the best scenes in A's for me.

Yeah, that scene was pretty funny, but my point is they didn't really have anything like that when things needed to be serious.

Serious moments are the best time to throw in jokes. Otherwise you got an entire audience with bloody wrists.
