Me. I started to read Witch Hunter from chapter 60(didn't have time to start from the begining yet). I was enjoying the King x Maid story and out of the blue she dies, poor King .

So we found out who murdered her. Turns out it was the Black Raven Assassins ordered by Xing's father and he knew all along that Yue and Xing did a switch-a roo. Real-Xing accuses his father for being a murderer only for the old emperor to retort that he isn't so different.

Yue's father reveals because of the succession crisis between the brothers, the nobles began fighting each other for power and were lying to Yue about what was really happening in the empire so they could raise their ranks and he blames everything on Yue for being naive and not totally controlling everything. Yue refuses to believe what his father said including that his Prime Minister has been hiding the infighting so he can get more money but the old emperor actually succeeded of casting doubt into Yue's mind. Soon Yue start to slowly distrust everyone to the point that the Long family starts a rebellion and attacks the capital.
Yue watches the battle, asking his PM that if everything was his fault for being the Emperor only to be stabbed by him.

^ i just read that chapter. i swear this arc just gets better and better. we know that the emperor retains control of the empire but could it be because he asked the witches for help and thereby gain an ally unrelated to the politics of the empire.

So we found out why the PM try to assassinate "Yue". It turns out he and the other nobles were planning to kill him all along but when the maid fell in love with the Emperor and didn't want to kill him, they change their plans and had her kill so "Yue" will be so emotional that he wouldn't notice anyone assassinate him when the time was right which the rebellion was the perfect opportunity to do it. Naturally, "Yue" is pissed.

Oh the irony. The nobles hated Fake Yue/ Xing because they wanted Xing for the throne and thought Yue changed too much without realizing it was Xing, the man they wanted for the throne all along. Realizing he doesn't have the trust or power to rule the empire, Fake Yue/ Xing accepted the power of the white dragon.

And thus end Vol 12. Oh and funny omake how the old Emperor teaches Fake Yue/ Xing to get the power.... by dancing!

So Xing was better off not talking the throne, not because he wasn't fit to rule (he was supposedly great) but because he would have gotten the throne anyway, since he actually had supporters which Yue lacked.

With the dragon being tied with the current emperor, this may imply that the emperors forced the dragon's power on them. Maybe if the dragon really did picked Yue, there maybe a powerboost coming.

TBF I'm not sure of that. I mean the dragon doesn't really "choose" the emperor it's the vote of how ever many previous emperor inside the dragon that does so. So unless they were planning to screw Xing over from the begining it seems less likely that they'd jump ship.

Tarras has pretty much become my favourite character now, ahh his lines and the fact he pretty much says what was roughly going through my mind in his appearance in the latest chapters.

Volume 13 is out!

Visul tries to reach Yue but the Black Ravens stop her. While they admit they can't beat Visul one on one, but all at once is a different story. Taras decides to teach these upstarts by using his "Dancing Earth". Meanwhile, Xing explains to Yue that in order to bind the White Dragon into his body, he chained it using his life force as a sacrifice. Xing admits he won't live long but as long as he has his revenge against Yue, it doesn't matter. Using the power of the Dragon, Xing pummels Yue. But all of a sudden, Lee stops Xing and tells him to stop his acting as he knows he's not Xing but is actually their father! It turns the triplet's father took over Xing's body and Lee was able tell he wasn't Xing due the fact his aura was different and was like their father. Furthermore, the story on how the rebellion started was suspicious since the Emperor has all of the power which make rebelling impossible unless he allowed it. Lee realize their father has been manipulating the Empire in order to bring great despair to Xing that he accept his offer to take the power of the White Dragon since the Dragon cannot go into a new body unless the host agrees.

With the truth out, "father" admits it and now really wants to kill both Yue and Lee.

69-70

Spoiler for c69-70:

Yue and Lee team up to try and beat their father but the power of the white dragon is too much. As their father gloats how Yue should have accepted the dragon's power and plans to use Xing to have three more sons and repeat screwing his heirs again, Yue vows to save Xing's soul from becoming part of the dragon by killing his father now. With the help of Xing's soul, Yue launches a powerful Kaiser fist but his father manages to avoid it, leaving Yue fainting. However, Lee, with help of the power of his witch master Meiling, is able to turn the tide. Because his father is focusing most of his power on subduing Xing's soul from taking control, Lee kills him.

ahh Tarras and Visul's interactions never get old, hopefully they get more from now on. Seems like Tasha's back to his usual self, I missed him.

Well I thought that he might quit WH at one point or another, especially after the lady who can see evry1's future apart from Tasha's(cant rem the name) memories were wiped.

The only one that could manage to bring him in would be Tarras (without Tasha going Song) and he sure as hell ain't doing it. He'd be fine either way.
