When I started collecting figures before, I didn't tell anyone, then when my dad came back from Israel (he works there and lives there with his new girlfriend -,-) he just accepted that I was collected them and said they looked cool. My mate doesn't care either as he collects some cool stuff too. :P

I was the same too.

I was scared at first thinking I'd be labeled as a wanker or something by my mates and they love them.

When my Saber Distant Avalon figure arrived I had it delivered to work because I was excited after waiting so long for it and a couple of blokes I work with loved her.

Anyhow, I'm going to buy Newtype September 2010 in a week or two and I didn't really understand what are the gifts that come with the specific issue, if someone can show me some images or describe it I'll be really thankful.

Again I'm really really sorry if it's a problem and out of the rules, I just don't know where to ask.

Pretty certain their freebies are posters. I got Newtype when it had a translated version sold. Megami is also posters, but they do have the occassional special edition offering something like pillows or a figure.

I think you mixed it up with NYANtype That and Megami has dozens of posters and an additional gift that can be CDs, DVDs, artbooks, pillows, etc

Newtype doesn't have that many posters, only one or two. The 2010 September issue comes with:
- Clear File set of "K-On!", "Kuroshitsuji 2" and "Sengoku Basara 2"
- Evangelion 2010 summer-autumn collection book
- "Strike Witches 2" and "Ookami san to Shichinin no Nakamatach" pin-ups
- "Angel Beats!" super big 2 sided poster
- original CD jacket for supercell

"Clear file" is basically a file folder, a folded paper that can hold a couple of your documents
CD jacket is the same, only smaller (12x12cm) and can hold a CD/DVD disc
"Pin up" is another name for poster

There weren't many good Megami posters inside and I've only liked 3-4 posters, I've thrown the older issue to the trash bin because it sucked real bad (full of loli, the bad kind) and I'm holding currently to another one which is meh.

Anyhow I understand the freebies aren't really awesome but at least with Newtype June 2010 I got awesome NGE Trump cards which was worth it for me, but seriously, a file set?

God damn it, 20 bucks for a Newtype which doesn't provide anything interesting, I'll think about it twice and if so I'll cancel the order from the store in Israel

That's why I always check on ahead before I place an order on a certain issue.

You can browse through all the posters of Megami and NyanType on moe.imouto.org, and japanese sites like moeyo.com or akibahobby.net always have photos of the extra goodies (magazines are released a week earlier in local stores before they become available for international order)

If there was an American version still, it would only have that. And maybe a teaser disc. And yes, the info in Newtype is fail and the majority of Megami posters are bleh/Chris Hansen targets. But there are some good ones. Daring to sift through that mess is too taxing, though.
