Yes, I know. The point is that it's still not CT or CS, just like how Fate/Zero is not Fate/Stay Night. It's a separate installment.

I know that. That's what I'm suggesting. Make a story that covers events implied but not shown in the games.

If anything, trying to adapt the narrative directly makes it much more susceptible to changing the source material than if it branched out like Phase 0 did.

The problem with a new story is that we have

Spoiler for spoiler:

Phase shift 0 and all of it's own stories after that which leads to CT (the novels are still not finished )
Blazblue CT including events that occured before the game like Ragna , Jin and Saya when they were raised by Caelica (eventhough you can't tell too much about it because there is still the mystery of Ragna being an artificial human or whatever) and how Noel ended up being in the Vermillion family
CS , which only happened like 2 or 3 weeks after CT
CP which takes place also a few weeks after CS
So you can't put something in between CT and CP

And how do you plan on using characters such as Ragna, Jin and Noel, Rachel and Terumi in the plot ?

Jin hasn't seen Ragna after "that event" when he was taken over by Terumi and before CT and Noel hasn't even met Ragna before Calamity Trigger.
The only story you can "tell" without ruining established story are "fillers" how Ragna destroyed Murakami 1-11, more of the academy days of Jin, Tsubaki, Noel and Makoto and maybe how they end up joining Nol at different sections
You can't tell the Ikaruga war with Jin and Bang, because that is most likely going to be told in Chrono Phantasma and Mori doesn't seem to have finished the story of it yet

The key visual pretty obviously indicates this is going to cover CT, only thing missing from the CT era "key players" is Nu, though I'm sure Hazama will get a bit more focus.

The last part of my post was directed to shadow5ya and disagreeing why a new plot with those characters in the key visuals won't work if the anime was not going to do CT. I ended up being a little vague about that.

I think it's fairly certain, that they will be doing CT

One more important thing to remember is that the one who is writing the story of the anime is Mori himself. I don't think it will be a straight adaption of CT but it will have same overall story.
And it sounded from Mori that he worked hard to get this anime off ground when he announced it in Arc Fes

Um... Deko Akao is writing the anime. Mori is supervising.

Is that a good or a bad thing? Either way I hope the story in the anime will be clear and focus on key things that were relevant in the novels and games. Seems video game adaptations focus on fillers a little to often than relevant story bits, which is to say more than none.

Deko Akao helped write story content for the games.
Deko Akao wrote the "BlazBlue Remix Heart" spinoff manga (well, is still writing it since it hasn't ended yet).
Deko Akao previously did work on Mysterious Girlfriend X, Astarotte no Omocha, Arakawa Under the Bridge and Asura Cryin'.

I'm unwilling to write it off as good or bad just yet, Akao's not very consistent when it comes to quality.

That is weird that Carl's seiyuu isn't on the list. I wonder if Jubei's seiyuu or presence will be added to the cast later since he's integral to the rise of the main character.

On that note. Rachel's seiyuu Kana Ueda is coming back. Best news about this adaptation so far.
